Should someone call, or should you read an ad offering to take the entire litter, check it out as best you can; ask questions; try, before surrending your litter, to determine if the animals are going to end up being sold to a testing laboratory, maybe sold as 'bait' for dog fighting or in some instances, kittens are used as live bait in the training of dogs for racing. 15 •^Helping PAWS It is very unusual today for anyone to be able to find homes for an entire litter of puppies or kittens. All pet adoptions must be validated by the signing of a contract along with the adoption fee, which includes the cost of the spay or neuter surgery from a vet of HP's choice, or a deduction from the cost of the surgery if done by a vet of your choice.
