IM The Sauk Trail Chapter of the Illinois Association for the Advancement of Archaeology - an organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of archaeological sites in the McHenry County area - will be sponsoring a presentation by Dr. J. E. Way of Beloit College. It concerns the identification of human skeletal remains in archaeological excavations. Hie program will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the office of the McHenry County Conservation District in Glacial Parte on Harts Road, west off Route 31 to the north of McHenry and Ringwood. Dr. Way is well known in the field of American archaeology. Dr. Way's fine reputation in his field is an important reason why he has been named director of the Logan Museum of An­ thropology at Beloit College in Beloit, Wis. The Logan Museum (open to public),is located on campus in an 1860 Gothic style chapel built to honor those who died in the Civil War. It con­ tains a number of important, superb anthropological collections which are both displayed and used in the teaching and research work done at the Museum as a part of the college curriculum. A minimal donation will be requested from those attending the presentation. The proceeds will be used to help further the archaeological programs supported by the museum. Following Dr. Way's presentation, the Sauk Trail Chapter will hold an important business meeting at which time new officers will be elected and plans for the 1984 archaeological season will be formulated.
