Mrs. Wagner has been employed at the hospital for 17 years. >4. ' . ^ , * Hospital named 'Employee of Month' Geraldine Wagner, a member of the medical records staff, was named Employee of the Month for October at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. Jerry has worked in many phases of medical records for the past 17 years, and is now Operational supervisor of that department. She also functions as the cancer registry secretary, a position which gives her much7 personal satisfaction. As She handles the follow-up on cancer patients, she often hears inspiring stories about the care they received at the hospital, about their recoveries and about how they cope with the disease. Her warmth and personal interest are evident not only in dealing with patients but with fellow workers. Jerry enjoys going to work every day and called her co workers "a fantastic bunch of people." They've made it a pleasure to be here all these years and to work through all the changes we long-time employees have seen." die added. She and her husband Lloyd have lived in McHenry for 24 years and have three grown children and six grandchildren. Spending time with her grand children and her pets rate high, but traveling is another interest and this past year she visited England and Japan. As employee of the month, Jerry Wagner received an engraved pen and pencil set, dinner for two at a restaurant of her choice, and a paid day off. Employees are nominated for the honor by fellow staff members, or by administrative personnel from other than their own department. , Special actions by Farmers Home Administration (FmHA) to help farmers stay in business were up substantially in the 1983 fiscal year, FmHA State Director Robert W. Chambers said last week. In FY 1982, Chambers said, this type of help totaled 748. In fiscal 1983, which ended Sept. 30, similar actions were 1909. In the 1982 fiscal year, the number of Farmers Home farm borrowen who had their loans rescheduled or reamortized to help them in making payments was 287. In 1983 that was up to 1,324. In addition, Chambers said, Farmers Home in Illinois assisted another 585 borrowers to obtain additional credit from the private sector. These "subordinations'in which Farmers Home subordinates part of its loan collateral to other lenders, totaled $16,595,000 in fiscal year 1983. The number of farmers receiving such help was up to 585 in fiscal 1983 from 461 in fiscal 1982. "Subordinations help both individuals and all Farmers i^lome borrowers," Chambers said. "An individual may need more credit than FmHA, by law, can extend. By FmHA's taking a second position to another lender, our borrower is able to get adequate credit for the operation. Second, by involving the private and cooperative credit sectors, we stretch our limited funds ° for those borrowers who need this help the most." Farmers Home Ad ministration is the rural credit agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This year, Farmers Home loaned to 271,000 farmers who could not get credit elsewhere. Their loans totaled about 12 percent of the total farm credit outstanding in the United States.
