The Peoria-Rockford Bus company has been authorized by the Illinois Commerce Com­ mission to operate a bus line from DeKalb to Waukegan over a route which includes Wood­ stock and McHenry. Busses will make three round trips daily. A hearing for the bus company's petition to operate the line was held in Chicago at which time several citizens from the communities interested at­ tended. The commission's decision was announced recently. Richard Doherty, one of four servicemen sons of Mr. and Mrs. William Doherty who reside south of McHenry, is stationed at the Woodward army air base at Woodward, Okla. His brother, Sgt. James Doherty, enjoyed a furlough at his home here a few months ago, at which time he was joined in marriage with a Kansas girl. Sgt. James is stationed in Topeka. Two local men will preach their first sermons Christmas. Bob Repke and Jay Walkington will be giving their first public sermons on Dec. 24 and 25 at the Greenwood and Ringwood men are entering the methodist ministry and are the first in the history of their churches to do so. The churches are both 100 years old, two of the oldest in the county. Mr. Repke and Mr. Walkington were featured in several national and state publications for their work in the local churches. They are also leaders in their respective fields of conservation and school activities. Rev. FT. James C. The McHenry County College board of trustees unanimously accepted a resolution from Huntley Community Con­ solidated District No. 158, requesting annexation in McHenry Community College District No. 528. • With the deadline for filing for alderman in the fourth ward of McHenry, six persons have submitted petitions. Candidates are Ronald R. Nystrom, Ernest D. Schooley, Edward M. Druml, Sr., Ronald H. Meurer, Lloyd E. Wagner and LaVerne Hromec. The election to fill the vacancy created through resignation of Frank Hromec will be held Feb. 3. general Ivl U( News Marian winter concert set Thursday, Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m., Marian Central Chatholic High School will present its winter concert. The concert will take place in the school gym. Both the swing choir and chorus will perform singing, "Low How a Rose Er Blooming", "Love Is a Song", and other selections. The con­ cert band will perform and the highlight of that performance will be the "Hallelujah Chorus". Modern Music Masters, a musical organization at Marian, will induct new members to their group at this concert. Ms. Chris Lord, the director of Music, said, "Marian Central students have shown that music is an integral part of the academic program. They have shown that they can compete well, as the marching band did in Marengo Settlers Day Festival. Students have shown a dedication to performance. Students participation in the state's district music festival held in Wheaton underscores this dedication. The winter concert will display the many talents of our students at Marian."
