Since many people have been ratable to purchase the famous Cabbage Patch dolls for gift giving tip Christmas, the hospital rms received numerous calls requesting "certificates" to accompany other dolls. A special certificate has been drawn up, similar to the genuine hospital certificate (not the legal birth certificate), and parents or doting friends and relatives may purchase one in the Pink Lady Gift Shoppe in the main lobby of the hospital. The fee will be used to purchase food and gifts for the needy families of the hospital's patient service area. The effort to make a happy holiday for less fortunte families had begun as an employee alternative to gift exchanges and grab bags. Now the funds collected through the doll cer tificates will add considerably to the Christmas project. The birth-adoption cer tificates will state that the doll in question was born at the hospital at 12:01 a.m. Dec. 25, 1983. At tending physician is S. Claus, and R. Rudolph is the hospital "official" witnessing the document. Certificates may not be reserved over the phone, but must be picked up in person. The hospital is located at 3516 W. Waukegan Road. •i - JINGLE BELL GAME "It" is in the center of the circle of players, his eyes closed and counting to 10, while a small bell is passed around the circle. After "It" counts to 10, he quickly tries to see who has the bell. The players try to pass the bell as quietly as possible. If "It" catches the person with the bell, they change places. If you are asleep, chances are you will be over come by smoke or even burned to death - - unless you have a smoke detector. Each year 6,000 Americans perish to fire in their homes. In Illinois the average is more than one per day. About 90 percent of these lives could be saved by smoke detectors and home escape plans. A statewide smoke detector effort is being launched by the McHenry Area Jaycees along with the Illinois Jaycees and major fire associations throughout the state. Because of that Gift, we can enjoy our world today. In gratitude for that Gift, may our hearts be filled with love, not only for our loved ones, but may the stranger find welcome in our heart's inn this Christmas. firms as well as the Jaycee Christmas tree lot in the McHenry Market Place parking lot. If fire breaks out while the family sleeps, a smoke detector will awaken everyone in time for escape. V R I \ < \:ss FRI..
