Eucharistic vigil at St. John's Dec. 17-18 On Dec. 17, following the 5:30 p.m. Mass, St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg is having an all-night Eucharistic Vigil, until the 7 a.m. Mass Sunday, Dec. 18. Families or individuals are being asked to sign up for at least one-half hour to come and worship the Eucharistic Lord the week before Christmas. The pastor believes the public has become so busy about so many things during the Christmas season that at times people "forget what Christmas is really all about - the birth of the King." This Eucharistic Vigil is primarily to pray for personal spiritual enrichment; to make the individual more mindful of what life is really all about; to pray for those who have fallen away from the faith to come for Christmas; for those who are hurting to be healed; for those who have fallen into sin to be reconciled; for those who resist change to respond to God's way. It is hoped that groups, families, and individuals will respond and pray throughout the night, remembering the Lord's in vitation, "Come, watch with Me". For further information, contact Rev. John C. Holdren, pastor, at 385-1477.
