SPECIAL DAYS These days, right before Christmas, are all special, but to some people a birthday sometimes gets "lost" in the other activities. Carol Thomp son, secretary at Greenwood School, will be celebrating her birthday Dec. 23; and we definitely don't want her special day to get lost! THIN ICE With the weather turning so cold now, it seems that the young poeople of our community feel the lake is ready for winter "activities. Please remember, though, that there are spots that never freeze over solid where there are springs. With the snow covering the lake, sometimes this is difficult to see, so check it out first before you venture to a new spot. The lake can be a vast won derland of fun-filled hours of pleasure, but also keep in mind the dangers that can be un covered. There are certain areas of the lake . that experienced snowmobilers will not go near, knowing that no matter how low the temperatures drop, these areas stay open. If you are new to the sport, it would be very wise to check with the Marina, members of the Lakers Snowmobile Club, or anyone else who rides the lake < on snowmobile to be certain of these dangerous areas. Our Rescue Squad has an excellent scuba diving team, but let's not have to use them! MERRY CHRISTMAS Hope Santa is good to all of you and that the joy and peace of the holiday fills your homes with happiness to last the next year through. Enjoy that holiday feast and don't think about dieting until after the New Year! Legal notice . IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE NINETEENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT MCHENRY COUNTY.
