\ McCullom Lake: POSSIBILITY OF GRANT FOR SEWERS IS POOR PAGE II -PLAINDEALER - WEDNESDAY. DECEMBER HLlIU At the Dec. 13 board meeting, Earl Murray turned in a com plete report on the E.P.A. meeting that he attended in Springfield Nov. 28. He traveled to Springfield with Mayor Stanek, Alderman Bolger and Hal Sundin, representing Baxter and Woodman. Earl stated the meeting took several hours and the possibility of this village obtaining a grant for sewers is pretty thin, at best. The grant money that is available is for innovative systems only, not your con ventional gravity-fed systems. The board feels that these in novative systems are not ap propriate for us; besides, there isalot of maintenance required. The board was glad to hear that the General Revenue Sharing program has been extended for another three years. Trustee Valentine issued six building permits. Monies received from permits goes directly towards the village. If you need a permit or have questions on building anything, please contact Dee Valentine at 385-4903. She will be glad to help you. v NEW STICKERS The 1985 village vehicle stickers are available for sale now. Prices have remained the same: cars, $10; A, B, or RV license plates, $15; C and D license plates, $30; and E license plates and over, $100. Office hours are Wednesdays from 2 through 6:30 p.m. If this day or time is inconvenient for you, please call 385-2211 and make other arrangements; SNOWMOBILING Since there is plenty of white fluffy snow on the ground, snowbobiles will be out. If you own a snowmobile, why not join a club. McHenry has many clubs which have many fine trails, open to members only. Remember, it is unlawful to ride a snowmobile down the center of the street. You must ride your sled on the side of the road and not in excess of 10 m.p.h. Use caution when driving and do respect other people's property. If you plan on riding on the lake, take the boat launching road down to the beach and be careful of ice skaters on the lake. LAKE LADIES The ladies' annual Christmas party was held at a local restaurant Dec. 8, in lieu of a meeting. Fifteen members enjoyed ribs and chicken served family style. A pretty cake baked by one of our residents, and coffee were served for dessert. The ladies held a grab bag and had a good time playing games. Of course, old members unable to attend were dearly missed. The next meeting will be in March. The ladies wish safe, happy and healthy holidays to all. BIRTHDAYS.
