DECEMBER 28. 1983 Murder case to jury Jan. 3 DEATHS By Angela Burden Shaw Free Press News Service The case against a 37-year-old West Chicago woman charged with the murder of one of hfer sons and the attempted murder of another is scheduled for the Jan. 3 jury call in 19th Judicial Circuit Court for MfcHenry County. Judge Leonard Brody found Karen Dage fit to stand trial after the court heard testimony last week from psychiatrist Werner Tuteur, who reported that after examining the defendant he believed she was fit to stand trial. . Dage is charged with one count of murder and one of attempted murder in connection with the June 24 stabbing death of her 5-year-old son, Matthew, and the stabbing of her 6-year- old son, Steven. The incident occurred on Illinois 25 in Carpentersville where witnesses reportedly observed Dage in her car stabbing the children. Ms. Dage drove away from the scene before witnesses could get into her car. She reportedly drove northbound through Carpentersville and was eventually stopped by two motorists east of Algonquin. Mrs. Dage is still in custody in the McHenry County Jail on $600,000 bond. Saturdays 9-5 Sundays 11-5 Kazimierz "Casey" Oleszc zuk, 71, of 7013 Seminole Dr., Wonder Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 24, in Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Wood stock. He was born March 1, 1912, in Poland, the son of Joseph and Antonina (Bard- zikowski) Oleszczuk. Mr. Oleszczuk was the owner of K-Oleszczuk Company, McHenry. He was a charter member of the Woodstock Flying Club and former member of the Woodstock Moose. On Aug. 13, 1945, in Great Britain, he married the former Anne Muriel Llewellyn, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Philip (Christine) Zack of Wonder Lake, Mrs. Philip (Helena) Mosby of San Diego, CA, Mary and Margaret, both at home; two sons, Richard of McHenry and Andrew of Evanston. Other survivors are five grandchildren, one brother Czeslaw of ChicagQ and a sister Jadwiga of Poland. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death. Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Freund Funeral Home, Wonder Lake. A Funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Wonder Lake, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials are requested to the McHenry County Easter Seals or Memorial Hospital. Katherina Keiner, 66, of 5712 Sylvan Dr., Wonder Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 22, at Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock. She was born Nov. 29, 1917, in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Lawrence and Maria (Ferback) Futterer. On Nov. 29, 1933, in Yugoslavia, she married John Keiner, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Matt (Katherine) Adrien of Wonder Lake, Mrs. Anthony KEINER (Marie) Ruf of Oak Park, EL and Mrs. Larry (Rose) Ashe of Chicago; and eight grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son. Friends called from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Freund Funeral Home, Wonder Lake. Johnson, 86, 518 Amsterdam, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, in Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock. He was born May 17,1897, in Vernon County, WI, the son of John and Breta (Christianson) Johnson. On June 6, 1942, in Crystal Lake, he married the former Ida C. Allen, who survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Judy) Welter of McHenry and four grand children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence (Pur vey) ; and 11 brothers and sisters. , Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Navy during WW I; was a graduate of Northwestern University Business School; and associated with the Woodstock Typewriter Company in Woodstock and Chicago as treasurer and its successsor, the R.C. Allen Company, as general manager, for 54 years. A member of WW I Barracks JOHNSON 1262, American Legion Post 412, Mr! Johnson was also a Life Member of BPO Elks 1043, charter member of Woodstock country Club, and former member and officer of Marian Central Fathers Club. The Rev. John Cahill con ducted a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary cemetery.
