Approximate time for the conclusion of testing will be 2:30 p.m. Recreational ve hitles subject to inspection law Certain vehicles registered as Recreational Vehicles will be subject to the state's vehicle inspection laws beginning Jan. 1. 1984, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Police. Under a new law motor homes, mini-motor homes, and recreational trailers registered as and displaying Illinois Recreational Vehicles plates are exempt from testing requirements. All vehicles registered as Recreational Vehicles and not qualifying for the exemption must be safety inspected twice a year. The vehicles to be inspected should be taken to a state- certified testing facility. There are 800 official testing facilities in various communites throughout the state.
