County police were also called to Christ the King Church, 5006 E. Wonder Lake Road, ' W o n d e r L a k e , where the main door had been apparently forced open. A c c o r d i n g t o police, there was e v i d e n c e t h a t someone had been the church, but g w a s lined to be Dairy Days /) eligible for loans to cover part of actkial production losses resulting from the drought. Becker said farmers may be eligible for loans of up to 80» percent of their actual losses, or the operating loan needed to continue in business, or $500,000, whichever is less. For farmers unable to obtain credit from „ private commercial lenders, the interest rate on the first $100,000 borrowed is 5 percent; interest rate is .8 percent on the balance borrowed over that amount. For farmers who can obtain com- . merical credit but who choose to borrow from FmHa, $»e interest rate is*l£.75 percent. As a general rule,^farmer must have suffered at least a 30- percent loss of production to be eligible for an FmHA emergency loan, Becker said. Farmers participating in the PIK or Federal Crop Insurance programs will have to figure in proceeds from those programs in determining their loss. Applications for loans under this emergency designation will be acceptecd until May 8, 1984. but farmers should/ apply as soon as possible after harvest. Delays in applying could create backlogs in processing and possibly carry over into the new farming season, Becker said FmHA is a credit agenoy>of the U.S. Department' of Agriculture.
