This is an eight- week seminar series McHenry County College has developed in an effort to help women com plete a smoother passage through life's sometimes rocky transitions. It is being held on Thursday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in v room 249 at the college, beginning Feb. 9. The seminar is designed for who are leaving one career for another, are coming back or thinking of a return to school; are experiencing an "empty nest" or whose lifestyle is changing due to separation, divorce or death. It is for women who want to take charge of their Ivies and become stronger, more self- confident human beings, even in the midst of difficult transitions. Says the seminar's leader, DEATHS MCC Counselor Mary Kay Messling, "The emphasis of the workshop is on identifying the skills you need to grow through a transition successfully; to identify what you are feeling, thinking and needing; to put together some short and long- term goals; to increase self- awareness and confidence." Topics of discussion will in clude being on your own, assertiveness, dealing with stress, time management, decision making, education, career decision making and self- awareness. A workshop titled "Rational Thinking" is set for Tuesday, Feb. 21. He was 60 years old, born in Berwyn, IL June 5, 1923, the son of Joseph and Helen (Winski) Kaczmarek. Mr. Kaczmarek was a project engineer for Stewart-Warner Corp., Chicago and Anphenol Corp., Broadview, IL. He lived in the Wonder Lake area about 20 years, having come from Berwyn. He was 80 years old, born Nov. 5, 1903 in Chicago, the son of Edward and Hanna (Johnson) Simonson. Mr. Simonson lived in McHenry about 17 years, having come from Chicago. He was a retired brick mason and member of the Brick Layers & Masons International Union Local 21 of Chicago. Surviving are his wife Anna Marie (Keene) whom he married Feb. 11, 1928 in Chicago; two sons, Edward (Helen) of Hillsborough, CA and William (Sue) of Des Plaines, IL; one granddaughter Lauren Ann; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Nelson of McHenry; and two brothers, Burton Simonson of Honolulu, Hawaii and Roy Simonson of Monroe, LA. Crystal Lake Rd., McHenry, died Thursday, Feb. 2, at Royal Terrace, McHenry. She was born April 20, 1901, in the Griswold Lake area, to Frank and Anna Steinsdorfer. Mrs. Koob was born and raised in McHenry and had been a manager for the A&P store many years. On March 1,1932, she married Peter Koob who preceded her in death.
