Assistance will be provided in two formats - taxpayer in­ formation seminars and self- help sessions. .Taxpayer in­ formation seminars will provide an update on tax changes af­ fecting 1983 returns. The IRS employee will answer taxpayer questions and help the taxpayer select the appropriate tax forms. During self-help sessions, in addition to answering questions, the tax specialist will give line by line instructions to taxpayers wishing to complete their return. Instruction will cover Form 1040EZ for single tax­ payers, Form 1040A and Form 1040 with non-business related schedules. "The self-help service will be similiar to that offered in our offices," noted IRS District Director J. R. Starkey. "Many taxpayers will walk out of an 'Outreach' session with their return completed. They will only need to give it a final review at home before mailing it." Individuals wanting to complete their returns should organize their tax records at home and bring a complete set with them, including Forms W-2 and 1099. Taxpayers should also bring the tax package they received in the mail. Additional forms will be available at the site.
