r DEATHS •FRETT Bernard E. Frett, 88, 304 N. Country Club Dr., McHenry, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Sunset Manor, Woodstock. He was born Oct. 29, 1895 in Chicago, to Albert and Julie (Younginger) Frett. A resident of Chicago many years prior to his retirement in St. Petersburg, FL, Mr. Frett returned to McHenry in 1975. He was the proprietor of B. E. Frett Fresh Produce Co. of Chicago over 50 years and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, McHenry and the Knights of Columbus, Elitihurst Council. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Koerber of McHenry and Mrs. Ronald (Carol Ann) Berghage of Grand Rapids, MI; four sons, Louis (Shirley), Bernard E. Jr. (Rita), and Charles (Louise), all of Westchester, IL and Eugene (Patricia) of Arlington Heights, IL; 30 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes, Julv8,1979; four brothers, William, Henry, Albert and Edward; and two sisters, Susan Rankin and Josephine Feilen. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday by Fr. Ed mund Petit in St. Patrick's church and interment will be in St. Patrick's Churchyard Cemetery. Carl J. Neuman, 62, of McHenry, died suddenly Friday morning, Feb. 10, at McHenry Hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1921, in Twin Lakes, WI, the son of Ben and Otilia (Merten) Neuman. He was married to Mary Ann Miller Oct. 27,1951, in McHenry, and she died Sept. 26, 1981. He was also preceded in death by twin infants at birth. Mr. Neuman was a truck driver for McHenry Sand and Gravel for 35 years and belonged to Teamsters Local No. 901 in Waukegan. He was a member of McHenry Moose Lodge No. 691 and former member of the McHenry Anglers. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William (Yvonne) McGowen and Mrs. Glen (Carla) Stach, both of Wonder Lake; Janet at home; two sons, Edward J., at home and Airman Robert N. at Woodbridge Air Force Base in Suffolk, England; a grand daughter Heather McGowen; and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Sch wartz of Silver Lake, WI and Mrs. James (Jeanette) Fosdick of Twin Lakes, WI. A Funeral Mass was offered at 11 a.m Tuesday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, McHenry, with Fr. Edmund Petit officiating; and interment in St. Patrick's Countryside Cemetery. Visitation was from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home in Richmond. Lee C. Schwarz, 73, 1518 N. Flower St., McHenry, died in her residence Sunday, Feb. 12. She was born in' Chicago to William and Bessie (Mertes) , Schwarz. ' Miss Schwarz was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, McHenry and had been active with FISH and the McHenry Hospital Women's Auxiliary (Pink Ladies). A bookkeeper -- most of her life, she was em ployed by Rae Corp., McHenry for 10 years prior to her retirement. Stahl of McHenry died Thuresday, Feb. 9, at Crystal Pines Nursing Home, Crystal Lake. He was 93 years old, born in Berlin, Germany Dec. 10, 1890, the son of Albert and Amelia (Dumke) Stahl. Mr. Stahl lived in McHenry since 1970, having come from Chicago. He was a retired tool maker for the Chicago Transit Authority West Side Shop. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Gangolf) whom he married June 14, 1930, in Chicago; two daugihers, Mrs, Albert (Elizabeth) Schmidt of Mt. Prospect, IL. and Mrs. Anthony (Elsie) Majcher of Arlington Heights; six grand children; and a brother, Her man Stahl of Berlin, Germany. Four brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Peter M. Justen & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Teasdale officiating, and burial in Woodland Cemetery, McHenry. Friends called from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions to Zion Lutheran Church, McHenry, would* be ap preciated.
