The students chose to collect food for their social service project during Catholic School Week. Kindergarten screening, » registration scheduled McHenry Elementary School District 15 will be holding the kindergarten registration and screening March 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23 at Zion Luthern Church, 2604 W. Elm Street, McHenry. Children who will be attending Montini kindergarten will be registered at the Primary Center March 12 through 23, but will also be asked to participate in the screening procedures at Zion Lutheran on the above dates. Only children who have reached the age of five on or before Dec. 1, 1984, are eligible to attend kindergarten. Parents must accompany their own child and bring his-her birth cer tificate with them on the day of registration. A copy may be obtained fronj the County Clerk's office of the city or town in which the chfld was born. Since the completion of the registration form, parent in terview, and4 educational screening will take about one hour, parents must call for a definite appointment. Marian to host seminar The Dean's list for the first semester of the 1983-84 school year at Illinois Wesleyan University includes 309 students from 181 cities in 13 states. Miss Line new Marian librarian Catherine Line Thomas Landers, principal of Marian Central Catholic High School, has announced the appointment of Miss Catherine Line as the school librarian. Miss Line will also teach Library Science. ON DEAN'S LIST Miss Line comes to Marian Central from Mosinee, Wis., where she taught World History, United States History, and Current Events. For her B.S. degree, she majored in Library Science. She is a certified teacher at the secondary level. Miss Line graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, in May, 1983. Some of Miss Line's interests include cross country skiing, reading, writing poetry and children's short stories, French cooking, and needlework. She is enjoying the change of location and looks forward to living in the Woodstock area. Miss Line says she is im pressed with the students and faculty at Marian Central and has really felt acceptance in the community. The Augustana College concert baad will leave Feb. 25 for a seven-day tour of Illinois, Michigan nd the Toronto area of Canada. Members of the nationally known band include Deanna Davis, a junior, who plays oboe and English horn. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Michael Davis, 6220 Barnard Mill Road, Ringwood. The annual home concert is scheduled1 March 10 on the Augustana campus in Rock Island. Marcellus Brown, in his third year on the music faculty at Augustana, is the director. Founded in 1874, the band is the oldest musical organization on a campus widely recognized for its rich heritage in music. OMISSION The name of Brian Cun ningham was omitted from the Montini honor roll. He should have appeared on the 3.38 listing. Marian Central Catholic High School will host J. Daniel Mathein, director of Personal Management System of Forest Hospital, Des Plaines, as guest speaker at an all-school assembly Monday, Feb. 27, at 9:30 a.m. Mathein will present a seminar which "deals with life - deals with the individual - deals with teaching simple, practical, implementable techniques which can be easily added to any person's collection of tools for higher productivity." The seminar is entitled "A Balanced Approach to Stress Management." Mathein comes to Marian Central with 18 years experience in business management, marketing, training, program development, public speaking, and a broad health im provement background. He is nationally known in his field. In addition to his presentations, Mathein is the author of a monthly newsletter, has authorized numerous articles on health promotion, and has authored books on The Personal Management System and Creative Decision Making.
