The Rev. Merle D. Conklin, pastor, stated that the group consists of ap­ proximately 40 young men and women from high chool through college age. They perform contemporary and traditional Chrisitan music with professional taped ac- companyment. Tell The World was organized in August, 1980, under the sponsorship of the Evangelical Free Church of Wauconda, to provide an opportunity for young people to express their Christian beliefs in song. Tell The World is directed by Walt Martin of Island Lake, who has been involved in church music and barbershop quartet music since his own high school years. He is a graduate of Valparaiso University and the University of Illinois. His wife, Miriam, a Wheaton College graduate, assisted in organizing Tell The World and continues to help manage the group. The concert on Sunday is open Anointing ceremony set at St. John's On Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg, a Mass and Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated. The purpose of the Sacrament of Anointing is a visible sign that the Chruch sympathizes with and cares for a person who is acutely or chronically ill or is just slowing physically from old age. Any Catholic who is seriously ill at the time, chronically ill, has rheumatism, arthritis, is handicapped, has a heart condition, high blood pressure, etc. may receive the Sacrament. A person of any age can receive this Sacrament. Senior citizens are particularly en­ couraged to come in order to ask of God for patience with themselves and others as they feel their bodies growing weaker or slower. At this Anointing of the Sick, the Rev. Holdren, will administer the Sacrament. All are invited to attend the Mass and Anointing ceremony. Lenten services planned Mid-week Lenten services have been planned at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 North Green Street, McHenry, beginning with a service of Holy Communion on Ash Wednesday, March 7, at 7:3<fp.m. Pastor Itoger Schneider will speak on the theme, "Deal With Your Pride". The worship service will be a contemporary free style service. The senior choir, directed by Rosemary Schneider and accompanied by Sally Manktelow, will provide special music. The service will include the use of the old rugged cross into which a new spike will be driven at each mid-week service, symbolizing the nails that helped to crucify Christ. The American Lutheran Church Women, led by president Ann O'Donnell, will coordinate a potluck supper for the congregation each Wednesday evening at 6:15 p.m. prior to the worship setting at 7:30 p.m. The potluck supper provides a special opportunity for fellowship and for members of the congregation to become better acquainted with one another.
