Sitler received his B.A. degree in Education and Masters in Library Sciences from Western M i c h i g a n U n i v e r s i t y , Kalamazoo, MI. He had worked in both public and school libraries since high school, as a page. His first real job was head of the Bookmobile Department, Ingham County Library, Michigan. Then, he headed the School Community Resource Center and also taught Audio Visual Production, CUSD No. 200, Wheaton-Warrenville, IL. He served as librarian, Theological Library, and Sup­ port Services for Authors, In­ ternational Correspondence Institute, Brussels, Belgium. Since May, 1978, he has been working with the Northern Illinois Library System; first, as the Intertype Cooperation Consultant and currently as the Audio Visual Consultant. His program will include a rundown of all audio visual services offered through the system to the people living in northern Illinois. Those present will enjoy a short film, plus seeing the many items that may be borrowed by library patrons who have a card from any of the 57 Illinois libraries in the system. A short question and answer period will follow. June Stuart, Chairman of the Library Committee, and her committee members will be hostesses for the evening. They have arranged for a dinner of Italian and American food served family style, including dessert, at Orsolini's, Routes 12 and 31. Cocktail time is 6:30 p.m., with dinner served at 7. All working women in the area are cordially invited to attend any of the McHenry Business and Professional Women's meetings. There is no obligation to join if one just comes to ob­ serve and get acquainted with the group. GARRON ALLMANN The former Julie Ann Sch- wanke. daughter of Axel and JOyce Schwanke of McHenry, and Garron Scott Allmann, son of Gerald and Jean Allmann of Wauconda were united in marriage Jan. 28. Pastor Roger Schneider was the officiating clergyman for the 3 p.m. ceremony in Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, McHenry. Following the nuptials, a reception for 150 friends and relatives was held at the Johnsburg Community Club. The newlyweds later em­ barked upon a 4-day honeymoon to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Upon their return, they took up residence in McHenry. Moose invites "Irishmen" The McHenry Loyal Order of Moose will celebrate the wearing of the green with a corned beef and cabbage dinner Saturday, March 17. All of the • Irishmen" will be there for a pitcher of green beer to wash it down. Serving will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.. with dancing to follow by a live group, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. A steak fry and dinner dance will be held Saturday. March 24, in honor of the past governors of the lodge. The officers of the lodge will be cooking and ser­ ving that night. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. and music furnished by a live group will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight. The Loyal Order of Moose will have election of new officers Saturday, March 31, from 1 to 6 p.m., at the lodge. Any member in good standing is urged to come in and vote for the can­ didate of his choice Spring is coming-be ready To help women get ready for the joyful approach of Spring, the McHenry County H o m e m a k e r s E x t e n s i o n Association has planned a program to take a fresh look at oneself, check out pretty spring clothes and all that goes with the season. The "Take A Fresh Look At Yourself" program will start at 5:30 p.m. March 22, in the PC A building in Woodstock, and will cover exercises to relax, skin care and makeup, hair care and styling; and finish with a fashion consultant who will provide help on wardrobe planning. A light supper will be served from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m Par­ ticipants will be able to cover each area of the program and go home with many ideas in getting ready for spring and summer. Circle studies Bible women At the March meeting of the Marcia Mary Ball Circle of the United Methodist Women of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry, Mary Rose presented another segment of her continuing study of Women of the Bible. Members of the group not only enjoy the study, but they are always looking forward to the next session as they are learning quite a lot about these women and their lives. The ladies were alerted to the fact that the annual Spring Rummage Sale is scheduled for Thursday, April 26, Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28. Many volunteers will be needed to help set up for the sale, as well as to work on sale days. A discussion was held and plans made for the U.M.W. General Meeting Thursday, March 15, which will begin with a potluck luncheon at noon, in the Fellowship Hall. Marcia Mary Ball Circle will hostess the event and the program will be "Women Amen!" Following the business session, everyone enjoyed a focial time and delicious refreshments were served by hostess Esther Sims. The next circle meeting will be Tuesday, April 3, at noon, when Helen Lundy and Cleda McCracken will be hostesses. Guests and newcomers are always most welcome at circle meetings. Celebrate St. Patrick's day The Shamrock Club of Twin Lakes Area will celebrate the feast day of St. Patrick Satur­ day, March 17, with a dinner- dance to be held at Andres Steak House in Richmond. Traditional corned beef and cabbage is on the menu, as well as chicken. Awards will be presented to the club's Irish Rose and Irish Man of the Year. MCACE sponsors film showing McHenry County Area Childbirth Educators (MCACE) invites the public to attend a showing of the award winning film, "Nan's Class" at Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock, at 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 19. The film depicts the labors and deliveries of five couples and a single parent who have prepared for tl*c birth of their child by attending Lamaze childbirth preparation classes. It also shows the latest in family centered maternity care in­ cluding labor and delivery in a birthing room setting and the Leboyer Method.
