SECTION 2-PAGE 2 - PLA1NDEALER - FRIDAY. MARCH 1«. 1*84 ffgeneral News Slippery roads contribute to accidents Fin clipping prior to lake stock Some things have to be done by hand, even at the Con servation Department's ultra modern, computerized Sand Ridge Fish Hatchery near Manito. And when the job is fin clipping nearly 100,000 coho salmon fingerlings, it stands to reason that the more hands you have, the quicker and easier the task will be. The salmon were slated for stocking in Lake Michigan by mid-March, according to Rich Hess, DOC fisheries biologist in charge of the Lake Michigan Project. A slippery stretch of Route 120 near Thompson Road, west of McHenry, \ accounted for two accidents Tuesday night. * Robert W. Herting, 7111 Loras, Wonder Lake, was driving east on Route 120, near Thompson Road when he lost control of the vehicle cm the icy pavement. Hie truck went off the road and struck a mailbox and a pine tree at about 8:45 p.m. Fifteen minutes later, in nearly the same location, another vehicle slid off the pavement and struck a guar drail. The car was driven by Charles Beccard, 1956-B PUBLIC NOTICE For 4 DAY'S ONLY, on March 16 thru March 19, PEPPERS WATERBEDS will, for a period of one year, assume full respon sibility to pay any and ALL FI N A N C E C H A R G E S o n t h e purchase of any Waterbed or bedroom set regardless of the purchase price.
