Pro ducer Dick Barg is co-writing the script with Stirling Silliphant, who won an Oscar for his screenplay "In the Heat of the Night." Although the cast hasn't been announced, filming will begin in May and the locations are set for Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, San Fran cisco, Washington D C. and London. MORE MICHENER -- ABC is hot for Michener, too. The network is developing Michener's soon-to-be-pub- lished novel, "Texas," into a 10-hour miniseries And that's not all ABC will also make Michener's "Poland" into a three-hour novel for television. The screenplay for "Poland" will be written by Joal Oliansky. Emmy- winner Oliansky also created the series "The Law." which made a star of Judd Hirsch. ALL WET -- Tad Shackalford of "Knots Landing" plays a liteguard and Julianna Phillips is the teenager who falls in love with him and becomes a lifeguard her self in an upcoming NBC movie Mlchaal Gross of "Family Ties" plays Miss Phillips' father.
