The plan, a statement of goals and objectives used to deter mine which projects and agencies the Mental Health 708 Board will fund over the next three years, ranks goals in three disability areas : mental illness, developmental disabilities and chemical abuse. Expanding residential ser vices to include development of up to three group homes by the end of fiscal 1986 is a new ob jective in this year's plan. It is one of several methods aimed at preventing first-admissions to state mental health facilities Increasing vocational rehabilitation services by ex panding the sheltered workshop building by 12,000 square feet and increasing the program capacity by 55 people also is intended to reduce the number of developmentally disabled patients admitted to state hospitals for the first time. In the area of chemical abuse, the board's plan calls for providing crisis and acute treatment services by sup porting the development of medical detoxification services by the end of fiscal 1984. Maintaining 24-hour, toll-free crisis line services for annual minimum of 730 people in acute emotional or social crises, and operating walk-inhand on-site response services for a minimum 381 people a year also are top goals Hie Kiwanis Club of Wonder Lake will be holding its annual bowling night Saturday, May 19. Hie ftin wiU begin at 8 p.m. at McHenry Recreation. For a nominal donation per person, will receive three games and priaes, ana be able to enjoy a smorgasborg. Get you friends together to form a team and then contact Horace Wagner at 653-2061. This activity, along with Peanut Day, are the two main means of raising funds for the Kiwanis. Anne Sowers 653-9549 I'm sure they would appreciate your support. CLEAN-UP This Saturday, April 28, In dian Ridge Subdivision will be taking advantage of the lowered water level and cleaning up both of their beaches. The more hands they have to help, the better, because it will go that much faster. Work will be going on from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it would be appreciated if you could bring your own rakes; and for your hands sakes-don't forget the gloves! You are not expected to work all day, but even one hour of your time would be a big help. In case of bad weather, the rain date will be Saturday, May 5. For further information on the cleanup day, call 728-1313. ANNUAL SALE T%e Co. 1 Firemen's Aux. will this year include a bazaar with their annual Mother's Day Bake Sale.
