The new lecture scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, will be a special panel discussion on Medicare and Medicaid. The speakers will discuss the changes in the Medicare- Medicaid payment plans and bow the changes will affect senior citizens who are hospitalized in the future. Hie lecture will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and is free service offered by Northern Illinois Medical Center. The topic, "Mammography: Now Breast Cancer Can be Detected WJien It's Almost Always Curable", is one which applies to women of all ages, married or single. Breast cancer is the number one cancer killer of American women. Mammography can detect breast cancer years before a person can feel it. This early detection makes it possible to remove thev cancer before it spreads. Following a film, there will be a question and answer session with Joan Althoff, Public Education volunteer, Dr. \ Gangnon, president of McHenry Chapter of American Cancer Society and chief of oncology at Sherman Hospital, and Dr. a local oncologist. Plaindealer aews service What started as an arrest for shoplifting, ended with three additional charges against a McHenry man. Calvin D. Hoff, 1205 Sunset, McHenry, was chkrged with resisting, a peace officer, aggravated battery and disorderly conduct in addition to retail theft following a fight at White Hen Pantry, 3806 W. Elm St., McHenry. McHenry Police were called to the store, where Hoff was being detained for shoplifting. When police arrived, Hoff became abusive and kicked, struck and spit at police. McHenry Police also arrested Michael W. Zeller, 702 S. Route 31, McHenry, on a charge of theft under r $300. Zeller was stopped at Osco Drugs after he allegedly tried to take a case of beer. McHenry County Sheriff's Police investigated the theft of three computerized scales from Chroma Corporation, 430 Wegner Road, McHenry. The scales were valued at $1,000 each. County police were also notified of the theft of an out­ board motor this past weekend. Daniel Baber, 7707 Pheasant, Wonder Lake, said he was towing his board when it fell off the trailer.
