Recycling Week is sponsored by the Illinois Association of Recycling Centers (IARC), the Illinois Industrial Committee, the State of Illinois, and numerous recycling businesses throughout the state. The purpose of the week is to en courage more citizens to par ticipate in recycling programs. - Greg Lindsey, president of IARC and executive director of the McHenry County Defenders, an IARC member, stated, "We're pleased to have the governor's support. Recycling has many benefits. It saves energy and natural resources land reduces the amount of waste that must be landfilled. Recycling also creates jobs and bolsters the economy. We're hopeful that many more people will become aware of recycling during this week." Recycling Week began April 22, Earth Day, proclaimed by conservationists in 1969 to call attention to the need to improve the environment and to use the earth's resources more wisely. The McHenry County Defenders are giving away spruce trees to all recyciers in April to illustrate the fact that recycling saves trees. Numerous films about recycling and a four-page newsletter filled with recycling games and puzzles are being distributed by the Defenders to schools throughout the county. Clary, 67, of Zephyrhills, FL, died Tuesday, April 24,1984, in Florida. He was born Dec. 29, 1916 in New Waverly, IN. Mr. Clary had been a Florida resident the past seven years, formerly of Fox Lake, IL; and was a retired 29-year inspector for Fiat^Allis Corp., Deerfield, IL. Surviving are his wife Hazel (Riel) of Florida; two sons, Berne (Cheryl) and John (Joy), both of McHenry; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Carol) Moran of Fox Lake; five grandsons; three granddaughters; one great- grandson and one great- granddaughter. " Also, three sisters, Mrs. Grant (Elizabeth) Fuller of McHenry, Nevada Nelson of Riverside, CA and Ethel Kershaw of Phoenix, AZ. He was born in Chicago Nov. 9,1940, the son of Roger and Elaine (Gnadt) Huffar. Mr. Huffar lived in the McHenry area all his life and had been a salesman for Heritage House Housewares, Woodstock. On March 18,1970, he married the former Terri Nye who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Steven (Connie) Koldeway of Wheatland, WI; a son Kenneth of Woodstock; a daughter Jill and two sons, Mark and Chad, all at home; Ronald H. Wilson Ronald H. Wilson, 54, 4617 W. Lake Shore Dr., McCullom Lake, died suddenly Wednesday morning, April 25, 1984, in Veterans Administration Hospital of North Chicago. He was born Dec. 11,1929, to Harry and Ruth (Levy) Wilson. A resident of McCullom Lake the past 31 years, formerly of Chicago, Mr. Wilson was a carpenter by trade for 30 years, belonged to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, McHenry, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife Joyce (Ghionzoli); three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Terri) Morley of McHenry, Ami Wilson of Mc Cullom Lake and Lori Wilson of Lake Villa. IL; three sons, Dale (Sharon) of Park Forest, IL, Kim of Crystal Lake and Gary of McCullom Lake; two grand children; two sisters, Penny Apswich and Kay Wilson of and two grandchildren. Other survivors are his mother Elaine Huffar of Fayetteville, AR; three sisters, Leora White of Tennessee, Carol Williams of Tulsa, OK and Judy Huffar of Arkansas; and three brothers, Scott of Tulsa, Robert of Zion, IL and Larry of Har vard, IL.
