I * X y A Time For Celebration Frank Greenwald, President The time for reflection and recognition of achievement nears. Following the time schedule outlined nearly four years ago, Memorial Hospital's expansion and remodeling is nearing completion. An Open House to encourage the public to see the hospital and to learn more about the significant changes in health care is planned for Sunday, June 10. \ \ It is important to stress "changes" because Memorial Hospital continues to plan for and meet changing public needs for health care services. The completion of the expansion and renovation demonstrates Memorial Hospital's ability to meet changing needs. Examples of new services include the Outpatient Service Center, a Mental Health Unit and an Alcohol and Substance Abuse unit. The implementation of many programs aimed at helping residents prevent illness is a major effort at Memorial Hospital. Memorial Hospital staff members believe care extends outside the actual hospital building. This is a time to celebrate, to be proud of the achievements of employees, physicians, vQlunteeKS, and Board members who have participated in developing our improved facilities and expanded programs. Even as we recognize the completion of the present project, the Board is developing a long-range plan for Memorial Hospital. Working with the administration and medical staff, the Board is looking ahead to plan and provide for health services to meet the future needs of area residents. -2-
