However, it's important that prospective -. homebuyers thoroughly inspect the house. Most people are proud of their homes and keep them in gopd condition, but turning on light switches and faucets, flushing toilets and looking over the general appearance of the house do not give a clear picture of its condition. You should look for clues suggesting serious problems. Stains or corrosion around water pipes may be a sign of leaky plumbing. First quarter 1984 revenues increased to $232,604,000, compared with first quarter revenues of $196,773,000 a year earlier. ^ CIE BIDS Governor Thompson has announced that bids will be opened on May 11 for a contract to build more than six miles of four-lane pavement on the Central Illinois Expressway (CIE) near Winchester. The paving contract, estimated to cost $8.2 million, will link U.S. 36 near Winchester with Illinois Route 100. The work should get Underway this summer with 'completion expected lay next year.
