McHenry residents on the ACME Master swim team, Linda Bugner, Chuck Follett and Dave Usrey scored several places during Illinois Masters Championships last weekend at the University of Illinois Chicago-Circle. Bugner placed first in the 50- yard backstroke, 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke. She also placed second in the 400-yard individual medley, third in the 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard freestyle and the 50-yard butterfly. She ended the meet with a fourth in the 100-yard butterfly and a member of the 35-45 age division 200-yard freestyle relay that took fifth. She teamed up with Linda Brodie, Linda Usrey and Laureena Gorey. Follett scored thirds in the 50- yard backstroke and the 100 individual medley. Dave Usrey was second in the 400 individual medley. Elm McMenrv 344-0022 School Fest Fun Run Lakeland School in Elkhorn, Wise, will hold its fourth annual School Fest Fun Run on Saturday, May 19. The run is held in con junction with the School Fest, a fund raising activity to finance special programming for handicapped children and adults. Races of 10k and two miles are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at Lakeland school. A special two mile children's division is also featured. Runners of all levels are encouraged to participate. Softball clinic planned The Woodstock recreation department will hold its second summer softball clinic on Tuesday, June 12 and Wednesday, June 13. The clinic will be held at Woodstock City Park and is open to girls 13 and older. Instructions will be provided by the Woodstock Softball Club. All instructors are qualified coaches. The clinic covers all phaseds of softball and stresses individual instruction. Registration forms may be obtained by calling the Woodstock Recreation Department at 815-338-4300, or the Wood stock Softball Club at 815-338-8945. Youth softball reglstraHw* Registration will be taken for the 16-inch softball league by the McHenry Department of Parks and Recreation until Friday, May 25 at McHenry City Hall. Teams are comprised of 80 percent City of McHenry residents are given priority in league registration. A tax equalization fee of $75 per team will be added to any team that does not meet the minimum of 80 percent City of McHenry residents on its roster. This fee will be paid to the City of McHenry. All league registration will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. A completed roster and full payment is required at the time of registration. Carlton breaks Wilmot record Dennis Carlton of McHenry was a double-winner in the Spectator stocks during Wilmot Speedway action last Saturday. Carlton won the 15-lap feature in a record time of 5:08.21, and he also won a heat.
