An orientation meeting of the newly-formed Lakemoor Jaycees will be held May 16 at 6 p.m. in the Lakemoor Village Hall. The new officers, elected at an organizational meeting May 9, have issued an invitation to interested people, ages 18-36, to join with them in building a better community. County shriners offer orthopedic screenings A free orthopedic screening clinic for children with orthopedic problems will be sponsored by the Shriners Hospital Com mittee of Medtaah Temple, Chicago, and the McHenry County Shrine Club of Tebala Temple, Rockford at Harvard Community Memorial Hospital, Grant and McKinley Streets, Harvard, on Thursday, May 17, 4 to 8 p.m. Hie clinic will be open to any child between one month and 18 years of age who needs help with burns, bone or muscular problems such as: cerebral palsy, scoliosis, brittle bones, spina bifida, juvenile ar thritis, club feet, residuals of polio, missing limbs, dwarfism, birth defects, hip dislocations, cleft palate, spinal cord injury plastic surgery. and burns Dr. Clarence Hart, or thopedic surgeon, will conduct the examinations. Diagnosis for treatment will be made, including possible referrals to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Chicago. All facilities and treatment are offered to the patients free of charge. Parents should bring a copy of the child's birth certificate and when necessary, papers to prove guardianship of the child.
