East Texas, more than 6.000 enthu­ siastic friends, family members and fans were on hand to help Jones' guest of honor was the recently recuperated Johnny Cash, who headlined the day­ long lineup of musical talent During the show. Jones and Cash performed a duet, lend­ ing their voices to rousing ver­ sions of such Cash classics as "I Still Miss Someone" and "I Got Stripes." Jones performed a spirited set of his own. too. and the day's lineup also included Cash's talented wife Juno Carter as well as Bonnie Barnes. Connie Cato and The Hinsons Now that we have our own park, we have to worry if other artists are gonna show up." Jones' wife. Nancy Sepulve- da. said, making a |0kerefer- rmg to her husband's own past problems with concert no- shows "Yeh." quipped Jones "Now the shoe is on the other toot!" Jones married Miss Sepulve- da in Marfch 1983. and since then she has been instrumental in aiding his drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation, stopping him from financial ruin and helping him construct his new music park "It's Nancy." Jones said as he smiled with pride, hugging his wife and posing for photos "Nancy did it all " Jones announced plans to perform at his park (which fea­ tures a 200-foot-wide stage, an excellent sound system. 200 picnic tables, an outdoor dance floor and bleacher seat­ ing for several thousand) every other weekend throughout the season's schedule, ending in October Several other head­ lining acts will also appear dur­ ing the coming months George Jones Sound Factory Records and recently signed Earl Daniel Hyde to a recording contract The recording company was very active in 1980 and 1981 with releases from Sammi Smith ("Cheatm s a Two Way Street" and "Sometimes I Cry When I'm Alone." both top-40 records) and Allan Frizzed ("She's Livin' It Up. I'm'Drtn- kin' Em Down") Since that time. Baugh has opened Hot Licks Studio (formerly .the Marty Robbins Studio), com­ pletely remodeling the facility Baugh himself is one of the most m-demand session musi­ cians in Nashville. He's played on recordings by Tammy Wynatta, Gaorga Jonas, Ray Charles, Johnny Paycheck, Johnny Duncan, Jania Fricke and numerous others In recent weeks, activity at Hot Licks Studio has included The Kendalls, Tony Joe White, Jack Greene, Gene Watson, Michael Martin Murphey, Johnny Rodriquez, Leon Everatte, Gus Hardin, Jim Glaser, The Pour Guys.
