* Serendipity Singers to headline Jamboree 5 WOODSTOCK -- The world-famous ro Serendipity Singers will headline the ~ entertainment at the fourth annual s Woodstock Country Jamboree, schedul­ ed ed for Sunday, Aug. 26, on Woodstock UJ ̂ V s Square. z =3 "We are really looking forward to the 1 jamboree this year," Terry McNeese, * president of the Woodstock Square Pro­ motional group, which sponsors the jamboree, said. "We think that it's going to be a big­ ger success each year because it gets bettecand better." Famous for their toe-tappin, hand- dappin, music that appeals to all ages, the Serendipity Singers recently return­ ed from a four-continent television tour, during which they filmed the latest in their television series 'The Serendipity Singers Show" aired weekly on cable television. John Ross of Wauconda is director for the Singers. He has written many new songs for the series and each week one of his original songs is featured oe the show. In addition to the Serendipity Singers, the Woodstock Country Jamboree will feature other entertainment, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., plus two beer gardens and food concession stands. There will be rides and games for children, including those sponsored by the Woodstock Jaycees, who are also sponsoring a dunk tank. I The square will be dosed to traffic for the jamboree. The first jamboree was held on the square in August 1981 during the McHenry County Pair and was the first of such promotional events plinnftl by the WSPG, which was organized to pro­ mote Woodstock's downtown area.
