"It's an opportunity for people to throw a frisbee or participate in a sack race, listen to some bluegrass music or chow down on a bratwurst. Last year the Sunshine Jamboree attracted in excess of 25,000 people. MOMS BREAKFAST Members of McHenry Moose Lodge Legion 169 will feature a breakfast of Champagne Cocktails, Steak and Eggs on Sunday May 20, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the lodge. The special event will honor "Moms" and thank them for a year of love and devotion. /• -,-v; Winifred Doran Winifred C. Doran, 85, died Monday, May 14, 1984, in Hot Springs, AR. She was born May 15, 1898 in Cincinnati, OH. A resident of Hot Springs the past 17 years, formerly of McCullom Lake, Mrs. Doran was a member of the Graphic Art Union over 30 years; American Legion Auxiliary Unit 491 and VFW Auxiliary Unit 4600, both of McHenry ; and had worked in Chicago as an assembler for a book bindery. Surviving are a daughter-in- law, Mrs. Geraldine Boehm of McHenry; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1968; one infant; and two sons, Robert and James. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated by Father John Stringini at 10 a.m. Monday, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, McHenry. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. No visitation was planned in the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home. Jeanette Driscoll Jeanette Driscoll, 81, 2820 W. Lincoln Rd., McHenry, died Tuesday evening, May 15, 1984 in Royal Terrace, McHenry. She was born Dec. 1, 1902 in Czechoslovakia, to Jan and Sofie Houdek. Mrs. Driscoll was a resident of McHenry since the early 1950s, formerly of Chicago where she worked for Western Elecric for many years; and belonged to the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry. Surviving are a nephew James (Jane) Hovorka of Dayton, OH and three great- nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel in 1955; and a sister Anna Hovorka in 1978. Visitation was scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's church, with interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society for McHenry County. POLICE ACADEMY. 1 Barbershop quartet concert set this weekend in Elgin The Elgin Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. will take the stage of Hemmens Auditorium in the Elgin Civic Center at 8:01 p.m. on Friday and Saturday May 18 and 19 to present its 38th annual concert of barbershop harmony. One of the quartets that will be featured onthe show is the Class Reunion from St. Paul, Minn. They are the current Land O' Lakes Champions and although their average age is only 24 they have been singing together for many years. Headlining the show will be the Brotherhood from Wood­ stock, N.Y., who have appeared several times on the Real People T.V. Show and at the White House, for President Reagan. They specialise in comety. The popular Valley Four-gers will finish out the quartet bill. Illinois State Champions in 1978, they continue to entertain with a variety of nostalgic and upbeat songB. They have been singing together for 22 years. The Elgin Chorus of 40 men travel under the name the Minutemen of Harmony. They have planned a number of songs woven around the theme "Sentimental Journies".
