Dinner party honors nonagenarian Margaret Smith will celebrate her ninetieth birthday Thur­ sday, May 24, at a dinner party given by her daughter and son- in-law Mr. and Mrs. Robert Afeld of McHenry. Mrs. Smith was born in Johnsburg May 24, 1894, one of nine children, to Barbara and Joseph Huemann, founder of Huemann Well Drilling, and has lived most of her life in this area. On hand to help celebrate the occasion will be her three grandchildren, Mrs. Art (Pam) Bell on, Gary and his wife Kolleen, Mark and his wife Kelly, and three great­ grandchildren, Jenniffer, Ginger and Sarah. The Reverend Floyd Stradley and the Reverend Jack Muir of­ ficiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony in the First United Methodist Church, Champaign. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gene John­ son, 1015 Church St., Cham­ paign. Mr. and Mrs. George Krickl, Sr., 1507 Richmond Rd., McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. Linda Johnson of Champaign attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Janet Puzey of Newport News, VA and Georgine Lessaris of Champaign. The groom's daughter, Amanda Krickl of McHenry, served as flower girl. Handling the duties of best man was Kenneth Chadwick of Crystal Lake. Groomsmen were the bride's brother, Jim Johnson of Champaign, and the groom's nephew, Tim Krickl of Janesville, WI. Following the nuptials, a reception lor 250 relatives and guests was held at the Ramada Inn in Champaign. Later, the newlyweds embarked on a Caribbean cruise honeymoon. The new Mrs. Krickl graduated from Champaign Central High School in 1976, Parkland College and the University of Illinois. Her husband, a graduate of McHenry High school in 1909, McHenry County College and Northern ILlinois University, is a self-employed C.P.A. , , They are making their home at 4227 White Ash Rd., Crystal Lake. * k Alpha Theta installs new officers Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society In­ ternational, an honorary society of women educators, held its final meeting of the school year at a dinner meeting at Hunter Country Club under the leadership of Mrs. Nancy Tober, president. The focal point of the evening was installation of new officers for the next biennium. They are: Kathleen Hughes of McHenry, president; Eloise Leighty of McHenry, 1st vice-president; Marlene Goetschel of McHenry, 2nd vice-president; Corrine Zoellick of Crystal Lake, recording secretary; Helen Kedo of Crystal Lake, corresponding secretary; and Karen Hartman of Marengo, treasurer. During the business meeting, committee reports were presented by outgoing com­ mittee chairmen, and new committee members and chairmen were appointed. The May meeting is also designated as Founders Day, with special tribute being paid to the original founders of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, International. A traditional birthday cake was served in honor of the occasion.
