IN 465*3 (119) 935-54*0 Thomas F. Bolger, chairman of Phase n of "Reach for Tomorrow," the capital fund drive to benefit Northern Illinois Medical Center, has announced that the campaign has passed the halfway mark with a total of $210,000 in pledges. The campaign, which is sponsored by the McHenry Healthcare Foundation, an affiliate of the Northern Illinois Medical Center corporation, has a goal of $400,000 in Phase n. "The Phase I campaign was established in 1982," Bolger said, "and raised $1.2 million of its $1.6 million goal. Phase n serves a two-fold purpose, in that it seeks to raise the remaining $400,000 and reaches into all the communities served by die hospital. McHenry Healthcare Foun dation is under the leadership of a board of directors headed by chairperson Mae Stinespring. Stinespring attributes the success of both phases to the "overwhelming support of our service area, and the concern of area citizens." Bolger, who has THOMAS F. BOLGER worked closely with hospital staff planning future develop ments at the new medical center, believes the campaign will achieve its final goal. "People are aware of the population growth anticipated for this part of Illinois, and they also recognize the need for comprehensive healthcare services within a short distance from home," said Bolger."They expect sophisticated services, such as the new full-body CT scanner, and everyone in nor thern Illinois will benefit from the physical rehabilitation unit, which will be the only one of its kind in Kane, Lake, or McHenry Counties," he continued. "The goals of this capital fund drive were established because enough people have a long-range vision that will result in im portant additions to the health care strategies of NIMC. Ad vanced technology and the highly-skilled personnel to implement the technology require a new look at fund raising for hospitals. I am proud to be part of a campaign that will mean an improved health care program for the people of northern Illinois.", Northern Illinois Medical Center, located at Route 31 and Bull Valley Road will be completed three months ahead of schedule and within budget. Hie 195-bed regional medical center will have ribbon cutting and dedication ceremonies on Sunday, June 17, and will move into the new building on June 23.
