(815) 385-4500 Christian Women meet The McHenry County Christian Woman's Club will be holding its monthly meeting Friday, June 8, at 7 p.mM in Cattleman's Restaurant, on the corner of Routes 62 and 25, Algonquin. This will be a Guest Night entitled, "Door to the Future," in place of the normal breakfast meeting the second Wednesday of the month. A special feature, "Printout of the Future," will be presented by Gordon Hubbs. He will ex plain how computers can be used by all members of the family and are easier to use than most people think. "Notes in Time" will be of fered by Joy Krueger of Crystal Lake. She majored in music at Augusta College in Georgia, is a recording artist, having toured the Southeast singing, and recently moved here from the South. John Burnham of Morton, IL will be the speaker for the evening, talking on the "Time Capsule." A graduate of Bradley University, and former pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles baseball team, he was active in dry cleaning and real estate, and currently works with troubled teens. Another speaker will be Bev Burnham. She is a graduate of the School of Nursing in con junction with Bradley University, a registered nurse, housewife and mother of two boys and one girl. The Bur- nhams tour the country giving seminars for parents of troubled teens. In addition to the usual things, such as kitchen utensils, Bid adieu to local resident of twenty years Thursday, May 24, a going away \party was held for Reba Owen in the residence of Marie Howe, hosted by Marie, Eleanor Reid and Edie Rourke. Cocktails were served, hors d'oeuvres of a wide variety and sauces to please any palate were supplied by Eleanor Reid, and other side dishes were brought by guests. Those who gathered to bid Reba a fond adieu were Hazel Redfield, Dottie Messer, Eleanor Creutz, Betty Lou Smith, Betty Lingenfelter, Pearl Cooper, Dorothy Diedrich, Lydia Fender and Margaret Scharf. The bride-to-be, a 1960 graduate of Woodstock High School, is an assistant teacher with the Special Education District of McHenry County. The future bridegroom graduated from Valparaiso "University in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Couple wed in St. John the Baptist Church St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg was the setting for the May 19 nuptials uniting in marriage the former Eileen Frankowski of Crystal Lake and Kevin R. Miller of McHenry. The Reverend Eugene Lutz was the officiating clergyman for the 3 p.m ceremony and appropriate music for the occasion included "Just You And I." The bride is the daughter of Henry P. and Marcia Frankowski, 623 S. Brentwood, Crystal Lake. Robert G. and Marilyn Miller, 219 S. Barreville Rd., McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. The bride wore a gown of white silk taffeta, featuring a high neckline with an English net yoke, which affected an off- the-shoulder look. The sleeves were puffed, Juliet style, and fitted from the wrist to the elbow. Venice lace, sequins and seed pearls adorned the bodice, neckline and wrists. The full, silk taffeta skirt swept into a chapel train. Attending her sister as matron of honor was Cheryl Knox of Monroe, WI. Bridesmaids were another sister of the bride, Lee Ann Frankowski of Crystal Lake, sisters of the groom, Wendy, Kerry and Kathleen Miller of McHenry, a friend of the bride, Tammy Hurkes of McHenry and the groom's niece, Becky Lebak of Guttenberg, IA. Handling the duties of best man was the groom's brother, Brian Miller of McHenry.
