PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY. JUNE I not guilty to narcotics charge Plainde&ler news service A former Cary police officer pleaded guilty on a narcotics charge last week in 19th Judicial Circuit Court. Frederick J. Brink, SO, of 3420 S. Kilkenny Drive, Crystal Lake, in a negotiated plea, pleaded guilty Friday to possession of a controlled substance. He was fined $1,250 and costs, placed on two years probation, and agreed to forfeit a truck which was confiscated by the state following his April 19 arrest. Brink served as acting police chief in Cary for several months during 1974 after serving on the Cary Police Department for about three years. He is the owner of a private security firm in Cary. The April 19 arrest of Brink, reportedly in a narcotics delivery situation, stemmed from investigation conducted by the McHenry County State's Attorney's office and the sheriffs department. Brink was charged on a complaint from State's At torney's investigator Robert Hrodey. The three felony and (me misdemeanor charges in cluded delivery of cocaine, delivery of marijuana, possession of controlled sub stance and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. (HSA-KLM) ap proved during its May Board of Directors meeting a budget application to the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for a 1985-86 fiscal year federal grant. Hie agency seeks $296,000 which if granted would allow the agency one additional staff member to the current five staff members it now has. BARN FIRE A Sunday morning fire on the Charles O. (Chuck) Peterson property, 14407 W. South Street, Woodstock, destroyed a barn, damaged a garage and burned a dog kennel in which one dog died. The Woodstock Rural Fire Department responded to the alarm about 10:30 a.m. with 23 firemen and six fire-fighting units and the Union and Marengo fire departments gave assistance with their tankers. The theme for thin year's event is "Milkdi Gras - A Celebration." Festivities will begin Friday, June 1, at 0:30 p.m. with a youth parade and for the children's participation.
