No fatal weekend accidents were recorded in McHenry County. However, several persons were treated for in­ juries in area hospitals after collisions investigated by McHenry County Sheriff's police and the McHenry PD. Among them, Jonathan O. Gannon, 21, 4411 Ponca Drive, McHenry, was taken to McHenry Hospital by McHenry Rescue Squad after a one-car accident about noon Monday on River Road, south of Mineral Springs Road, McHenry, when his car began to slide, skidded off the road and flipped onto its roof, police said. Gannon was cited for driving too fast for conditions. William R. Warnock, 60, of Libertyville, and Daniel W. Lewey, 25, and his passenger, one-year-old Melani Lewey, of 36016 N. Francis, Ingleside, were taken to McHenry Hospital after a two-car accident about 8 a.m. Friday on U.S. 12 at Fox Lake Road in Burton Township. According to the police report, the Warnock vehicle struck the rear of the Lewey car, which was waiting to make a left tun. Warnock was dted lor driving too fast for conditions. Patricia Lyharger, 4889 Ab- faington, McHenry, was taken to McHenry Hospital for examination and treatment of injuries following a two-car collision on Crystal Lake Road, near West Campus. The driver of the other car, Jerome G. Reinhard, 4714 Bonner, McHenry, said the Lybarger auto pulled out from Royal Drive into the path of Ins car. The report indicated a school bus was stopped in the outside lane, just north of the intersection. Lybarger was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way and Reinhard for driving with an expired license. Peggy A. Kielbasa, 2614 Myang, McHenry, was ticketed for improper lane usage after her car crossed the center line of Route 31 and hit another vehicle. Kielbasa said she had been working all day and shut her eyes for a moment when the collision occurred. The driver of the other car was Debra Kay Korsmo, 49-8 Oak Hill Colony, Fox Lake. Ernest J. Stevenson, 71, died Thursday, May 31, 1904 in his son's residence, 1112 Matanuska Tr., McHenry. He was born May 3, 1913 in London, England. Mr. Stevenson came to visit family in McHenry in August, 1983, »nd was unable to return to y^w^nn due to illness. He had been an accountant most of his life, with Bell Asbestos Co. in London. Surviving are his wife Margaret (Matthews) whom he Norman J. Williams, Sr. -- Norman James Williams, Sr., 79, of Sea view, WA, died Mon­ day, May 21,1984 in Ilwaco, WA. He was born June 5, 1904 in North Freedom, WI. Mr. Williams attended school in Crystal Falls, MI. On July 18, 1933, he married Georgia M. Ritchy in Green Bay, WI, where they established their first home. They lived in McHenry from 1952 to 1967 when they moved to the Long Beach Peninsula. He worked as a caretaker of the Ilwaco Cemetery from 1970 to 1983, retiring May 30. He belonged to the Peninsula Pool League of Long Beach. married Oct. 22,1969 in London; a son Edward (Jacquelynn) Stokes of McHenry; two daughters, Mrs. Alec (Sylvia) Markham of Ossett, England and Mrs'. David (Jill) Foster of London; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were private and cremation was requested by f a m i l y p r e f e r e n c e . Arrangements were handled by the George R. Justen k Son Funeral Home. Survivors in addition to his wife in Sea view, are a son Norman Williams, Jr. of Van­ couver and five grandchildren, April, Norman James HI, Beth Ann, Kent and Bradley. His mother, Delia M. DeMuth, preceded him in death March 25, 1984. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. May 24 in Ilwaco Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Ilwaco Cemetery Assn., P.O. Box 6, Sea view, WA 98644. Arrangements were made by Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, WA. Edith E. Thompson Edith Elizabeth Thompson, 73,116 W. Elm St., Chicago, died Saturday, May 19, 1984, in 20% TO 40% OFF Chicago. She was born June 21, 1910 in McHenry to Frank B. and Sylvia (Richardson) Thompson. , Miss Thompson graduated from Woodstock High School and the University of Wisconsin, with a major in Journalism. She had been a columnist for many years with the Southtown Economist. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Vinton F. Thompson and a niece, Mrs. B. J. Alderson, both of McHenry. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Veda and Grace, three brothers, Donald, Russell and Vinton; and her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. B. Deitz, former Wood­ stock residents who raised her and her sister. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. May 23 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, McHenry, with the Reverend Marion G. Police said someone entered through a rear, overhead door of an adjoining business to enter the establishment. An undetermined amount of video tapes and recorders were reportedly stolen from the premises. The investigation into the theft is continuing.
