While Jhe first show was too serious and depressing, the oewest, "The Wilder Summer" (airing June 4 and 9 on HBO) is so flim­ sy you can barely find the plot. It's time for summer camp, and all the stereo­ types are here: the overweight boy, the homesick girl, the boy- chaser, the rich snob, and -- our man of the hour -- the adolescent in love. Charlie Wilder falls for Lydia Travers and must overcome his shyness to talk to her. That's about it. Its one redeeming quali­ ty is that the bad guys get their due in the end. FEUNE FUN -- Cats --, in all their glory -- are the focus of "Metropolitan Cats," a whimsical half- hour that is now airing on the Arts & Entertainment Network June 3 and 4. Cats in painting, sculp­ ture and real life are discussed, their personali­ ties and habits examined and their appeal dissect­ ed. Cat-lovers are sure to purr over this one. WOOOY'S BACK -- Woody A Hen tried a light, Woody AHen fanciful tone for "A Mid­ summer Night's Sex Comedy," airing on The Movie Channel June 8. The results, while not earth-shattering, are sweet and enjoyable. The cast alone is reason enough to watch. Mia Farrow, Mary Steenbur- gen, Julie Hagerty, Tony Roberts, Jose Ferrer and Allen himself portray cou­ ples with sexual difficul­ ties. When they all rendez­ vous for a weekend in the country, the games begin. The time is 1906, but there's no turn of the cen­ tury morality at work here. The couples play musical partners, hoping to match up with their ideal partner in the end.
