Because we don't want to cause any pain to families who might be hurt by an untimely reminder, we will no longer take for granted that our date book is even close to being accurate. As we've said before we're doing our best to update our information and appreciate any help in doing so. Ifyou still want your birhtdays and an­ niversaries mentioned, you will have to call us. We will no longer mention birthdays or an­ niversaries unless we are ab­ solutely sure the person still lives here or hasn't passed away. WELCOME NEIGHBORS Had the peas ure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ruckoldt, who just moved onto Shore Drive from the Mount Prospect area. Bob and Eunice have been married over 45 years and have three children, nine grand­ children and two great grand­ children! One of their sons, Dennis, lives nearby in Wonder Lake. Welcome to Lakeland Park, Bob and Eunice...much luck and happiness in your new home! Mr. and Mrs. Pablo Naranjo are now making tneir home on Flower Street with son Chad, who's eight and daughter Sarah, who's two. Although they've lived in Lakeland Park two years already, we'd still like to wish them luck in their new home and welcome them * warmly. MOTHERS CLUB It's hard to believe that there aren't any young mothers in Lakeland Park that would be interested in forming a club! How do you keep busy all win­ ter? An evening out with other young mothers is a great outlet, especially during cold winter months. In any case, due to lack of more response, we areunable to form our club as we'd like it to be. .tt There is already such a club in existence in Fox Ridge that could also use some new members. They were nice enough to extend us an in­ vitation to join or to just meet them and see how their club works-and what they do. It will be held Wednesday mor- nings from 9:15-11:15 in Sep­ tember and October. ; A canoe trip for the men of the church will be held Tuesday, Aug. 28, leaving Argile's, 6400 Harts Rid., Ring wood, at 9 a.m. Canoeists will be taken to Glacier Parte where they will paddle down the Nippersink to Spring Grove. There, they will be picked up and delivered back to their cars. Their other daughters, Karen Chicago and Judy from Point, Ind. also flew n for the ceremony. This Was the first time in seven years jthat the girls and their folks yere all together. It was a most memorable occasion. Irene and Harry spent a week in Texas, and Irene said that our weather here was much warmer than Texas for that week. The newlyweds, the Snyders, will be making their new home in Houston. We wish them all the best. BIRTHDAYS Happy birthday wishes for this week go to Nancy Harwell, celebrating Aug. 15; Earl Nelson shares Aug. 16 with Mike White, John Kalash, Mona Arnett, Denise and Dawn Suchor and Lois Parent!. The Easter Seal Society's (Stroke Club is planning a trip to •Arlington Park Race Track on (Friday, August 17. { Anyone interested in spending !a day at the horse races is asked [to meet at McHenry County College, Illinois Route 14, Crystal Lake, at 11 a.m.. Club members and friends will watch the races from The Classic Club; an admission of $5.75 is required. If necessary, a handicapped van will be available, but with a limited number of seats. Anyone needing handicapped tran­ sportation should call the Easter Seal Society at 338-1707 for a reservation. Marshall, who will be celebrating her special day Aug. 17. Len Spencer will be adding another candle to his cake Aug. 21. Happy anniversary to George and Jean Hartmann, who have their special day Aug. 23. WIN GOLF PRIZES A good time was had by all who attended the 132nd Annual Wonder Lake Golf Open Thursday, Aug. 9. Steve Krater and Cris Las shared the honor of having their names placed on the traveling trophy for having low gross of 77. They also received individual trophies and a free Friday night; fish fry. Winning surprise prize for having the high gross was Bill Kay. The traveling trophy awarded for the closest to pin on No. 2, went to Tom Conner. The moment everyone looks forward to is the announcement of the winner of the mystery car. This year's lucky winner was George Street. What a way to start his retirement from the post office--a slightly used Lincoln Continental! Longest drive on No. 3 went to Chris Las, and Kip Gill was closest to pin on No. 17. Top winners in the Peoria system were; Mike Rudy, Chuck Sowers, Don Miller, Jack Strom, Tom McMillan, and Frank Gill.' Greg Sierminski was the' winner of the Blind Bogey run by • the club pro.
