Bancroft is taking a year's leave of absence, during which he plans to gain experience and do commerical photographic work. "Bill has much experience in commercial photography," says Bancroft. "He has been published in Popular Mechanics and Women's' Day magazines and just finished an extensive one-week course in commercial photography at Winona School of Photography in Des Plaines." Laskey, of Crystal Lake, will teach beginning and in- termediate-level photography classes this fall. Harold Rail, of McHenry, is a freelance television producer who does work for Motorola and other big corporations, ac­ cording to Bancroft. He is The 1984 Illinois Angus Association State Field Day will be held at the Block Angus Farm, near Broadlands, on Sunday, Aug. 26. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Block will be hosting the event. Bill Coker, an owner of Melco Cattle Company, Lan­ caster, South Carolina, will be the special guest speaker. There will be a tour of the Block Angus Farm operation and herd before a meal at noon. Hie beginning course, Art 241, teaches the basic skills and technical processes the student needs to know to use photography as an art medium. Camera handling as well as black and white processing and printing techniques will be explored. The three-credit-hour class is scheduled for two evenings a week. Art 242, intermediate photography, is a continuation of the beginning class,Nem- phasizing further refinemenKof photographic techniques apd proccesses. The course includes study of the use of high contrast, toning, lighting and advanced printing techniques. The class is worth three-credit-hours and will meet Monday and Wed­ nesday afternoons. The lab fee is $30. For additional information consult MCC's fall schedule of credit classes or call the college at 455-3700. Registration is in progress and will continue until the course sections fill or through the first week of the fall semester. Register in person at MCC Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to4:30p.m. and 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., or stop in on Fridays between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The college is located on Route 14 at the intersection with Route 176, between Woodstock and Crystal Lake. A petition has been filed for hearing before the McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals by Petitioners, The State Bank of Woodstock, TR No. 3261 and James O. Berry for an Amend­ ment to the McHenry County Zoning Ordinance from "A-l" Agriculture District to "A-2" Agriculture District. The property is located in Grafton Township at the nor­ thwest corner of the intersection of Coyne Station Rd. and Ernesti Rd. The subject parcel consists of approximately five acres. The hearing on this petition will be held Aug. 30, at 2 p.m., in Room 203 of the McHenry County Courthouse, 2200 N. MDA BENEFIT A concert in the park, featuring the bands Cheap Trick, Restless, Lynz, Bad Habit, Armed Vision, and Screamer, will be held on Sunday Aug. 26 at Lyran Park, just south of Rockford, from noon until dusk.
