PAGK 5 - IM AINDIM KK - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7,1»84 news Lakemoor/Lilymoor: Area president soon to be back at the helm Richard Hyatt is winning the battle against ill health, as he is improving daily and will soon be able to return to his duties as president of Lakemoor. Mrs. Pacita Morrison has been appointed president pro tern and under her capable leadership, the village obligations are being met. The next meeting of the village board of trustees will be the second Thursday of the month, as usual, at 8 p.m. at the village hall. EARLY PRESENT Carl Stromley's mother will be 85 in October, but with the four-day weekend, and at the urging of his wife Jackie, Carl with his son Mike and grandson Dannie, took off for northern Iowa to visit Gramma Stromley. This was a special event, as these three are the only ones in their family to carry on the Stromley name. Pa and Ma Stromley had 14 children, with 13-3 sons and 10 daughters, still living. When this wise lady was asked at the nursing home she was in last winter, how many children she had, her answer was "26"-ifacluding the spouses ofvher children as her own. She is now living in an aparthjent made for the elderly, where she can move about in a wheelchair if necessary. She is usually able to walk with the help of a three-pronged cane, but steps are difficult. As her church is very important, the services are taped and brought to her to be eqjoyed whenever she wants to listen. Sept. 13-Lakemoor Village meeting, 8 p.m. NONIE IS AT REST There was a great sadness in the Guy Delp home in Lakemoor the last week in August, when Vickie's brother called to say that their grandmother had died, suddenly and unex pectedly. Vickie had spent her growing up years in the same building with Nonie, and even after moving to Lakemoor, visited with her often in her home in Chicago. The week before Nome died, Vickie had been with her. Everyone was always welcome at Nonie's, the name her family and neighbors all called her. Though only four foot 11 inches tall and a bit roundish, she had love to share with anyone who stopped by. Yes, Nonie will be missed, but always when thoughts of her come to her dear ones, her love will warm the sad hearts. And she will be waiting to welcome each one some time again. TWENTY-SIX YEARS Twenty-six years ago on, Sept. 4, 1958, a new being made her entry into our world. Baby girl Karas became a full-fledged member of the human race at Memorial Hospital for McHenry County at 8:02 a.m. under the excellent care of Dr. Berman, and was finally released as Maribeth Karas on the 9th of September. Hospital officials did not go along with the "baby * girl" status and needed a name, so Bruno and I finally decided on Maribeth. Highlights other than the new baby, were the speeding ticket Bruno got on his way home after spending nine hours at the hospital with me, and then when it was time for homecoming, having big sister hold the five day old baby all the way home, We thank the Lord, for 26 years of the responsibility and love of having this child.
