SCOTT SPARACIO Traditional ceremony joins Suhr, Sparacio in marriage The former Gabriela Suhr and Scott Sparacio exchanged promises of marriage Sept. 1 in St. Bede's Catholic Church, Ingleside, 111. The bride is the daughter of ! ' Manfred Suhr of Wauconda, 111. and Rosemarie Suhr of Tucson, Ariz. Sam Sparacio of Bristol, J Wis. and Margaret Edwards of t Wauconda are the parents of the - bridegroom. The traditional wedding ceremony lyas officiated by F. V The bride wore a white wedding gown lavished with lace, and a cathedral train. She ^carried a bouquet she had made of burgundy chrysanthemums and white roses with ribbon streamers. Attending the bride as maid of honor was her best friend, Jacque Alcott of Roswell, Ga. Bridesmaids were Cher Dominas, Kim Osburn, Colleen Clifford and Sandy Kr- zyzanowski. Attendants were attired in burgundy dresses, styled in the southern belle motif and carried fans adorned with burgundy roses. Handling the duties of best man was the groom's best friend, Michael Zamiski of Wauconda. Groomsmen were Mike Dominas, Oliver Osburn, Ken Campbell and Dave Sparacio. Renee Ferrara was the flower girl; Scott Suhr was the ring bearer; and Tom Clifford and Darryel Sandburg served as ushers. A buffet dinner, featuring roast beef, ham and lazagna was served to 180 friends and relatives at Maravela's. A highlight of the meal was a white wedding cake, decorated with burgundy roses. The new Mrs. Sparacio graduated from McHenry High School in 1981 and is an in­ ventory clerk for Scot Forge. Her husband graduated from Wauconda High School the same year, and is employed by the same company, doing inside sales. They are "at home" at 27734 Grass Lake Drive, Spring Grove. UMW asks for volunteers for clothing closet duties The September general meeting of the United Methodist Women of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry began with a prayer by Pastor Lowery, followed by delicious coffee cakes, coffee and juice served by the Ruth Circle. President Kathy Boehmer called the meeting to order with words of welcome and then Nancy Hodges gave the devotions. An announcement was made that the day for the women to be at the Clothing Closet in Woodstock is Nov. 2. Volunteers are needed for morning and afternoon sessions. Committee reports were given, along with a report on the birthday party sponsored by the U.M.W at Royal Terrace Nursing Home. On Nov. 3, there is to be a meeting at Round Lake at 9:30 a.m. oh Child Advocates. Patricia Esposito advised that the deadline for turning in finished kits for Church World Service will be at the general meeting Thursday, Nov. 15. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m., OCTOBER 3 McH. Rummage sale scheduled Oct. 4,5 and 6 are the dates of the annual fall Rummage Sale at the First United Methodist Church of McHenry. On Thursday, Oct. 4 and Friday, Oct. 5 the hours are from.8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to noon. Hie address is 3717 W. Main St., lower level fellowship hall. Donations for the rummage sale can be brought to the church and placed in the lower level. There is ample parking space and hot coffee and donuts will be served at a nominal price.. There will be bargains of all descriptions. Everyone is in­ vited to attend the annual rummage sale. with the Evening Circle as hostesses. The craft club stated they will be meeting every Tuesay at 9:30 a.m. at the church until the bazaar Saturday, Oct. 20. The hours for the bazaar will be from 9 a.m. to 5 pm. in the Fellowship Hall. A luncheon will be served and the bazaar will include a bake sale and many new, novel and useful items that will make good holiday gifts. Oct. 18 is scheduled for set-up day. The district meeting is slated for Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., ^it Harvard. Circle chairmen are to get reser­ vations to Veretta Gerstad by Oct. 17. An invitation was read from Mt. Hope United Methodist Women to attend the general meeting at their church Thur­ sday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. The program will be "Friar Tuck." The program for the meeting was given by Linda Hastings, reading from the book, "Gifts From The Sea." The next U.M.W. general meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m., when the Evening Circle will be hostesses. Fashion sense Mental Health Resource League members Tj Braun, Crystal Lake, and Char Mowery, McHenry, admire some of the apparel to be modeled at the Oct. 23 "Country Couture." Fashions will be provided by the Satin Filly of Barrington. Models will display a wide range of fashions, from suits for the woman executive, to cruise wear, to some avant garde designer clothing. HAROLD COLLIS Mr. and Mrs. Harold "Ray" Collis, 906 Hanley Street, McHenry, observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary Saturday, * Sept. 29, at a quiet dinner celebration for the immediate family at Chapel Hill Country Club. Ray and Mae were united in Holy Matrimony Sept. 29, 1934, in Our Lady of Angels Church, Chicago. PWP general meeting slated Parents Without Partners, Chapter 189, will hold its first general meeting, Friday, Oct. 5, at a new location, The Moose Lodge on Route 31, Crystal Lake, one-half block north of Route 176 on Route 31. A cake walk will be held after the meeting. Donations of baked goods will be appreciated. The topic for the evening will be "Who's Been Sleeping In Your Bed?" Guest speaker will be Virginia Krammerer from Elgin Community College. Friendship Club hears talk on art of woodcarving The Friendship Club of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry began the Fall season at a September Potluck Dinner and Meeting in the Fellowship Hall, with 28 in at­ tendance. John Josie brought samples of his wood carvings, explaining how they were made, the tools used, and other facts about carving. He answered many questions and even demon­ strated the use of some of his tools. It was a most interesting program, which everyone en­ joyed. All members are urged to share their hobbies and talents with the group. The meeting was called to order by President Bertha Stange, with words of welcome and a thank you to the ladies for the delicious repast.
