Tickets may be purchased in advance. Rain date is Oct. 20. DEAN'S LIST David Pedraza, of McHenry, has been named to the dean's list at the DeVry Institute of Technology, Chicago. Pedraza maintained a grade point of 3.0 or better to be named to the list. PURDUE GRAD Lisa Ann Najdowski was recent­ ly awarded a Master of Arts degree during commencement ceremonie^at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind. JIM OWEN LAURIE MELLUM Homecoming activities at Johnsburg High School are slated to begin this Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with the traditional parade. Later that night, at 6:30 p.m., a bonfire and sock-hop will be held. Music will be provided and a nominal admission will be charg­ ed. On Saturday, Oct. 13, the Johnsburg Skyhawks will face the Grayslake Rams in Johnsburg. . The Sophomores kick-off the ac­ tion at noon and the varsity squad takes to the field at 2 p.m. A special attraction, the dedica­ tion of the "Those Who Excel" wall in the school, is set for the in­ termission between games. Also, JHS alumni are encouraged to look for the "Alumni Tent," spon­ sored by the senior class, and a spot to meet old friends for refreshments 1 The Homecoming dance will be held Saturday night, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., at the high school. Vying for the title of Homecom­ ing king and queen are eight couples. First are Tom Kinney, the son of Tom and Carol Kinney, and Deb­ bie Tvaroh, daughter of Terry and Jan Tvaroh Kinney is active in JHS football and weightlifting. His hobbies include snow skiing, foot­ ball and car&4 He plans to attend Southern Illinois University and major in automotive technology. A cheerleader at JHS for four years, Debbie Tvaroh is active in school as a member of the Na­ tional Honor Society, volleyball and softball teams. She enjoys water skiing, suntanning and photography. Debbie intends to major in business at the Universi­ ty of Illinois. The second couple is Ron Beck, son of Robert and Gena Beck, and Kelly Kegel, daughter of Jim and Sandra Kegel. Active in sports, Beck is a former memberof the football, basketball, baseball and track teams. He likes to swim, ski, ride motorcycles and go out with his friends. Beck plans on atten­ ding the University of Arkansas, where he'll major in radio and television communications. Kelly Kegel has been a cheerleader for two years and is a student council representative. She enjoys swim­ ming, sunbathing, boating, shopp­ ing, going out with friends, danc­ ing, eating and being happy. Kegel also plans to attend the University of Illinois and major in business. Couple No. 3 is Mark Dumelle, son of Andrew and Dolores Dumelle, and Michelle Anderson, • daughter of Lowell and Donna Anderson. Dumelle is a member of the JHS football and wrestling squads and lifts weights in the off­ season. He likes sports, water ski­ ing and working on cars. His may go to a trade school or right into the working world. A member of the JHS band and pom pon squad, Michelle Anderson likes swimm­ ing, skiing, shopping and having fun with friends. She plans to go to college for a degree in business administration and then flight at­ tendant school. MIKE HAA6 ROBERTA KUCHARSKI She plans to attend college, major­ ing in business administration- management and minoring in psychology. C o u p l e N o . 5 I s M i k e Nederhouser, son of Glenn and Kay Nederhouser, and Lisa Klein, daughter of Edward and Suzanne Klein. Klein is a member of the JHS honor band and participated in football and basketball. He plans to attend Southern Illinois University, possibly to major in communication. He enjoys boating, skiing, snowmobiling and hiking. A three-year member of the pom pon squad, Lisa Klein en­ joys shopping, sun bathing, danc­ ing, eating and being with her best friends. She plans to attend school in Florida to become a flight at­ tendant. Also pursuing the top spot in the Homecoming court are Tom Meehan, son of Phil and Bonnie Bjerning, and Julie Leopold, daughter of Joe and Joyce Leopold. Meehan participates in basketballs football and track and also enjoys swimming, water ski­ ing, snowmobiling and boating in his spare time. He intends to go to college. Class vice-president for two years and student council member for three, Julie Leopold is currently vice-president of stu­ dent C.A.R.E.S. She enjoys aerobic exercise, swimming, shopping, dancing and watching movies. She plans to attend col­ lege and study business education and management. Couple No. 7 are Mike Haag, son of Bill and Joanne Haag, and Roberta Kucharski, daughter of Lenny and Donna Kucharski. The treasurer of the senior class, Haag is a student council member and on the varsity football and track teams. He plans to go to Illinois State University. He enjoys water skiing, snow skiing and various sports. Roberta Kucharski serves as secretary of the senior class and is on student council, varsity pom pon squad, softball and the speech and debate team. She likes to swim, sun bathe, go boating and shopping. Kucharski also plans to study education and outdoor recreation at Illinois State Univer­ sity. The last couple seeking the crown is Mark DuRei, son of MARK DuREI JILL LEOPOLD Thomas and Nancy DuRei, and Jill Leopold, daughter of Joe and Joyce Leopold. A quarterback on the varsity football team, DuRei is also active as senior class presi­ dent, yearbook business manager and varsity basketball team member. He likes to ski and be outdoors.
