Concerned about the _ problems of financing an< providing quality public education, the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce (ISCC) announced plans to engage the business community in helping to find solutions to "what ails our schools." The ISCC has formed a task force on the future of education in Illinois, reflecting the business community's sub­ stantial economic stake in quality education at all levfels. The 40-member task force will establish criteria against which an expected multitude of proposals emerging from a number of legislative and education study groups can be measured. The chamber will then recommend legislative solutions which offer cost- efficient improvements in education. Area student receives scholarship Wilson B. Muse III, of McHenry, has been named a Baxter Travenol scholar for the 1984-85 year. The honor includes a $1,000 cash award. Muse is a student at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and this is the second consecutive year he has qualified for the scholar­ ship. He is the son of Elizabeth Muse, who is a production research assembler at the Round Lake facility. The scholarship program was initiated in 1983 and recognizes outstanding undergraduates among the children of em- rees of Baxter Travenol jaboratories.
