DANIEL SCHLOTHAN A highlight of the wedding of the former Betty L. Zamastil, daughter of Donald and Barbara Zamastil of McHenry, and Daniel A. Schlothan, was the attendance of Keese and Ali Jongerius of Bunnik, Netherlands. Betty had been an exchange student in Holland for a year, and the Jongeriuses made the trip especially to share her joyous day. The Rev. Tom Lowery per­ formed the 4 p.m. ceremony Oct. 6, in the first United Methodist Church, McHenry, before an altar decorated with baskets of gladioli, carnations, New moms meet Oct. 31 baby chrysanthemums and status. Special music was "Edelweiss," sung by the matron of honor. The bride wore a wedding gown styled with a sweetheart neckline and short, puffed sleeves. Embroidery adorned the sleeves and bodice, the skirt was edged with a wide ruffle and flowed into a train. Her chapel length veil, borrowed from her cousin, was secured to a ring of white silk roses. Cradled in her arm was a bouquet of orchids, carnations, stephanotis and status. For something old, she wore her great-grandmothersrs diamond engagement ring. Beth Comeaux Nelson of Minneapolis, Minn, was the matron of honor, and bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Gwyn Schlothan *of Anaheim, Calif., and the bride's sister, Pam Zamastil of Wonder Lake. Attendants were attired in electric blue street length dresses, featuring a sweetheart neckline and short, puffed sleeves; and the pleated skirt was finished with a bubble hemline. They carried nosegays accented with ribbon streamers matching the dresses. Ken Schlothan of Anaheim was the best man, and groomsmen were the groom's brothers, Dave of Wonder Lake, Dale of McHenry, and Dart of Spring Grove. Chris Zamastil, the bride's nephew, was the ring bearer, and he carried a pillow which had been handmade by Marsha Tonyan. The mother of the bride wore a two-tone gray, street length dress, with short sleeves, trimmed with lace and ruffles; and a wrist corsage of pink carnation's. Following the nuptials, a reception for 50 friends and relatives was held at Orsolini's in "Richmond, with a D.J. providing an evening of delightful dance music. An added touch to the sentimental affair was a toast by Keese Jongerius. Honored guests, in addition to the Jongeriuses, were the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrg. J. Eichmann of Sun City, Ariz.; and her great-aunt, Edna Hrouda of Cicero, 111. The newlyweds' honeymoon was a scenic trip around Lake Michigan. They are presently making their home in Sherman Oaks, Calif. The bride graduated from McHehry High School in 1978 and the University of Minnesota in 1982. Her husband, a 1978 graduate of Leuzinger High School in 1978 and Claremont Men's College in 1982, is an assistant comptroller for Olt- man's Construction Co. She eqjoys leading area Bible studies and directing the choir and group at church. She has spoken and sung at many Women's Aglow chapters and shared her music in many church services, conference® and retreats.' The (leadline for reservations is 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 90. TOURISM Nearly $55,000 in tourism ching grants were recently aw ed by the Illinois Departmei Commerce and Community fairs to help promote events attractions across the state. LYNNE MILLER Women's Aglow Fellowship of Crystal Lake-McHenry will host a luncheon Nov., 1, at 10:30 a.m., at John Evans Inn, Rt. 14 and Virginia Road, Crystal Lake. Guest speaker will be Lynne Miller of Horicon, Wis. Lynne has a music minsitry called "Jesus Is 'My Song," and she uses recorded background music and shares teaching from God's word. Past president of the Beaver Dam Womei^s Aglow Chapter, Lynne is presently a counselor. The New Moms Discussion Group will meet at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31. The group, which strives to help all new moms deal with all of their new responsibilities, is open to all new moms. Lunch is served to senior citizens Although the caterer for the meals for the McHenry Count Senior Citizens' Council Meet Eat Program requests that participants sign up for meals one week in advance, they allow changes to be made in the meal count 24 hours prior to each serving day. ' In other words, people can call the center they attend and reserve a meal 24 hours ahead of the day they plan to attend; for example: those desiring to eat lunch on Friday may call Thursday morning and make reservations. Reservations for meals at the McHenry Walk-In Center for the week of Nov. 5 through Nov. 9 should be made by calling 385- 8260 by Tuesday, Oct. 30. The menu for that week is as follows: of Nov. 5: Roast breast turkey, giblet gravy, whi] potatoes, spinach, orange juice, biscuit, margarine, mixed fruit, milk. Nov. 6: Chili Con Carne, crackers, country potatoes, green beans, salad, bread, margarine, fresh orange, milk. WOLF Angela and Richard Wolf, 7515 Barnard Mill Road, Wonder Lake, announce the birth of their first child on Sept. 20. Brandon Grae entered the world in Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz. Regina Jurgens of Waterloo, la. is the maternal grandmother. BELL Maureen and Paul Bell, 516 W. •Bald Knob Road, McHenry, became parents of their first daughter Sept. 23 and named her Erin Maureen. The eight-pound infant was born in Northern Illinios Medical Center, McHenry. She has a three-year- old brother Benjamin. Maternal grandparents are Eugene Hogan of Chicago and Joan Kefer of Minocqua, Wis. Paul and Marilyn Bell of Chicago are the paternal grandparents. Great-grandmothers are Anna Hogan/Florence Schmidtke and Adele Tackla. HAYES A baby boy was born Sept. 24, in Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington, to Monty and Kimberly Hayes of McHenry. The Reverend James Gaynor was the officiating clergyman for the 2:30 p.m. nuptials. The bride is the daughter of Janice Tonyan, 1406 N. Palomino Drive, McHenry. Donald and Barbara Dixon, 1101 Broadway, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. Attending the bride as maid of honor was Breck Dixon of McHenry. Currently a practicing beautician, the bride graduated from Marian Central Catholic High School in 1981 and Don Roberts Beauty School.
