He was born in Michigan May 19, 1943, to Edward G. and Irene (Mackey) Samen. Mr. Samen lived in the area all his life; was the owner of McHenry Drapery; past resident of the McHenry ast member of School ict 15; and member of the Chamber of Commerce. On Feb. 27,1965, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, McHenry, he married the former Jean Kunzer, who survives. Also surviving are his arents of McHenry; three ughters, Katherine, Colleen and Jenny, all at home; and a sister, Mrs. A1 (Debbie) Ferguson of Gastonia, N.C. Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Peter M. Justen & Soil Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Church, and interment was private. • Memorials can be made in his name to Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. Richard F. Justen ) Richard F. "Nick" Justen, 63, of 1502 Glendale Ave., Phoenix, Ariz., died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 1984, in his residence. He was born July 5,1921 in McHenry, to Nicholas P. and Caroline (Steinsdorfer) Justen. 1 Mr. Justen resided in McHenry until 1975, when he moved to Arizona. He was educated in McHenry schools and worked with his father until his death. He then became sole proprietor of J us ten's Standard Service on Elm Street and Rich­ mond Road until the early 1960's when he sub-leased it to Stan­ dard Oil. < He was a WW H Army veteran; lifetime member and part of the rifle squad of •American Legion Post 491; lifetime member of VFW Post 4600; became a McHenry I County Sheriff's deputy in 1965, and retired in 1970 with the rank of sergeant. Surviving • are three daughters, Mrs. James ' (Sharon) Kujak of Austin, Tex., Mrs. Arthur (Sheila) Johnson of ; Island Lake and Tammy Justen of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, } Richard, Jr. (Mary) of Wonder ; Lake and Guy "Bobbie" of ; McHenry; and five 'grand- : children. j, Visitation was held after 4 p.m Monday in the George R. Justen It Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's church, with interment in St. Patrick's Churchyard Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the church. Cecilia B. Adams Cecilia B. Adams, 90, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 1984, in her home. She was born Nov. 27, 1893 in Volo, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Hay) Schaefer, and resided in the area all her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank L. Adams, June 29, 1978. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Florence May of McHenry; a son Clarence J. Adams of McHenry; 17 grandchildren; 31 reat-grandcnildren and a rother, Albert Schaefer of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by two sons, Edward J. in 1973 and Albert J., 1982; and two brothers, George and Joseph Schaefer. Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Peter M. Justen & Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, McHeniy. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Christian Mothers Sodality of St. Mary's church. This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information on a burglary to Crystal Lake's North Elementary School located at 500 W.Woodstock St. Sometime during the night of Thursday, August 9, the suspect entered the school and proceeded to a storage room located in the northeast corner of the building. fender knew .exactly what he wanted.
