HW Neighborhood news Sonny, the orange and white semi-long haired, declawed, neutered cat belonging to Joy and Joe Gray, had not returned home Nov. 13. Concerned by Sonny's absence Joy contacted neighbors on Steuben Road, Helping Paws and the Animal Control. On Saturday the 17th, Joy and Jo®r accompanied by their dog, made a thorough search of their property which adjoins Moraine fell State Park. She is going through some tests at the McHenry hospital. Friends in the Ringwood area are sending their best wishes and prayers to you, y*- -- -- ^ Katy Christopher 385-8037 653-9262 BARN FIRE AVERTED A small grass fire could have resulted in the lost of a small barn at the Robert Borchardt residence Saturday of last week, when a spark flew to the old barn, had it not been for the reaction of family and neigh­ bors, plus the quick response of the McHenry Fire Department. It was greatly appreciated and a comfort to know that they were so prompt. EARLY THANKSGIVING An early Thanksgiving dinner was enjoyed at Lowsville Sunday, Nov. 18, with all members of the family in the area, there with Walt and Doris to enjoy each other's company and all that good food. Doris' mom, Mabel Thomas of Crystal Lake, the Wilcoxes of Woodstock, the Robert Lows, Bob and friend Kathy of McHenry, Ray and Cindy Low, Tom, Sherry and Nicholas Low, Pam and Dan Kehoe, Robin and Katie, Sue, Al, Joe and Marcy Jette, Eddie Erwin, Patti Miller and Erik. A very enjoyable and thankful day. HUNTERS Lee and Scott Miller spent the past weekend up north with their father, Dave Miller, learning a little about the sport of hunting. They left Friday of last week and returned Monday of this week. HAM DINNER ANYONE? Sounds like we should have gone to the George Lehmans for dinner last Sunday if interested in a ham dinner. George and Joyce Lehman and family en­ tertained friends Cheryl and Rich Lanenga and boys with a delicious ham diinner and all the trimmings. LOST DOG "Brownie" is the name of a female tan and black average type medium-sized doe that belongs to Marchia Jay of Parkland subdivision. Marcia had removed Brownie's name tags in preparation for a bath, and let her out in the yard to do her chores, when frightened by a larger dog ran off. As of last Friday, Brownie has not been seen. Anyone having in­ formation may leave the message at the McHenry Nunda Library, 385-6303, where it will be relayed to the hopeful, waiting Jay family. RECUPERATING The last two weeks has been a time of concern for our household, with husband Bruno's admittance to Good Shepherd Hospital on election day. Surgery was scheduled for the 8th, and as usual, it was the most unusual case his doctors had witnessed. A week followed of IV's, drains, tunes and medications.
