Aggressive driving causes illnesses ly Sec. of State Jim Aggressive drivers wfio get angry and try to take advantage of other motorsts in rush-hour traffic are candidates for heart attacks and other stress-related illnesses, according to the Automotive Information Council (AIC)'. Reckless driving practices such as cutting off other motorists, tailgating and honking the horn, accelerating rapidly at intersections and cutting through service stations to avoid red lights not only * threaten the safety of others, but cause stress for the driver. Although aggressive drivers are the primary candidates to suffer stress-related illnesses 7 driving in rush-hour traffic can be stressful for anyone. If you are tense behind the wheel, even if you are driving defensively, you are likely to bea safe driver. To reduce' rush-hour stress, the AIC recommends the following: --Plan ahead. Leave for work a few minutes earlier. Some aggressive drivers are procrastinators who push themselves to catch up after a late start. --Be familiar with road conditions. Know where con struction projects are during the summer months and listen for road conditions daily during the winter. --Keep the gas tank full and the vehicle in safe mechanical condition. Driving with the fuel tank marker on empty or a knock in the engine can cause blood pressure to rise. Pricts good Nov. 21-t. k.4 LIQUOR MART 2314 W.
