Following a sit- down dinner, leaders and members of the organization were recognized for their ac­ complishments during the 1983-84 4-H year. Art and Doris Farley and Perle Olsson, Ringwood and Jean Steuben, McHenry were four of 11 4-H'ers who received the Silver Clover Award in recognition of their fifth year as volunteer leaders. The Illinois Key Award, which is given to 4-H members who have been involved in the organization over three years, are at least ^4-years-old and have received a score of 90 or more points on the Illinois 4-H member record, was presented to Keith Borchardt of Wonder Lake. Borchardt was one of seventeen county 4-H'ers who received the honor this year. Keith and Todd Borchardt, Wonder Lake; Kathy Farley, Ringwood and Annette Freels, McHenry were awarded with the 4-H I Dare You Award. TTiose honored were selected in recognition of their excellence in character, personal develop­ ment and leadership potential. Steve Smith of McHenry received the Outstanding County Electrical Award. Steve Smith YMCA, NIMC sponsor class (or heart patients - The Lake Region YMCA of Crystal Lake and the Northern Itttaois Medical Center of McHenry have teamed up to offer a special Phase III exer­ cise program for cardiac vic­ tims. The program is held at the YMCA Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6 a.m. The class can also be adapted for those who have had a history of high blood pressure or who have a family history of heart disease and would like to start out slowly and safely with trained per­ sonnel from the hospital to monitor their progress. Kathy Spyrnal, director of th4 program, must be contacted before entering the class at 344- 5000 ext. 3330. Registration is made through Northern Illinois Medical Center.
