Open gym nights continue The City of McHenry Department of Parks and Recreation reminds area residents of the open gym nights at Parkland Jr. High School.- Monday nights, the open gym is for basketball, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. This program is relatively unstructured open play basket ball. No pre-registration is required, and all of the equipment will be provided. On Tuesday nights, also from 7 to 9:30 p.m., co-rec volleyball is offered. This program is open to both men and women ages 18 and over. All equipment is again provided. No pre-registration is required for the volleyball night, and the fee is again $1. Hurckes helps Monmouth KANKAKEE -- The Monmouth College Fighting Scots wrestl ing team captured a fourth-place finish at the 12-team Kankakee Tiger Invitational recently, and Mike Hurckes of Johnsburg helped the Scot cause. The Scots took only six wrestlers and were only 4% points from a team trophy. Illinois State won the meet. Hurckes, a sophomore and Johnsburg High grad, pinned down a fourth place finish for Monmouth. He won his opening match at 142 pounds, and went on to post a>2-2 record in the meet. Club names officers Bob Adams was elected president of the McHenry Sportsmen's Club at the club's recent elections. To serve with him is Ken Behm, vice-president.
