(Wednesdays on ABC). they encounter the smiling (ace of Heidi Bohay. who plays desk clerk Megan Kendall. Megan's main job. along with the other key staff members, is seeing that everything runs smoothly at the St. Gregory. For Miss Bohay. her main concern is doing her best in making an impact in her second season on the show. Early in her career Miss Bohay hadn't really expressed much interest in the profession. Her major break in televi­ sion appeared to be a nightmare before it actually began. "The call for my audition for Megan came on a Saturday. I had just learned that I'd been turned down for a part on an NBC pilot. I was a nervous wreck going in and I thought I had done a terrible reading." the actress says. "When I got home, the message said, 'They loved you and Aaron Spelling wanted to meet you.' I was then so built up on getting the role because Megan was definitely the only role I was up for I was the last girl that read with Michael Spound (who plays her husband Dave) Another reading before 30 ABC executives convinced them that she was right for the role. "I think the reason you are hired is because they see a part "of the person in you. You're hired for 50 percent of your ability and 50 percent of your personality." The actress is looking forward to doing more with her character and the possibility of showing Megan and Dave at home "There is a storyline that is ours. Megan is an extremely supportive young wife. Her goals are that she's going back to school to get her Masters. I use a lot of me in Megan. "I also love working on the show because I love every­ one that I work with." Miss Bohay continues. "The cast is wonderful and we atf have a wonderful time together. Eve­ rything and everyone is down to earth. I think the chemis­ try between the regulars plus the guest stars are a plus." And while the actress hopes to broaden her talents out­ side of television, her greatest accomplishment is when she toured four-dMae-** an Ambassador tor the March of Dimes. She had planned to pursue a career working with handicapped children. "I was extremely proud of the tour for the March of Dimes, tt was one of the most wonderful experiences and It gives me something else to talk about.
