There will be five positions open on the April ballot; president, clerk and three trustees. Give the clerk a call at 385-2211 and find out all about it. HOURS * The clerk's office hours will remain on Wednesdays from 2 through 6:30 p.m. through the month of January. At that time, 1986 vehicle stickers will be on sale. • ' " " ' '.j- -1 ^ ' BOARD MEETING ~ The second board meeting of December was held Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 7:30 p.m. At the time, it was decided to hire a new insurance agency to represent the village. This was a short meeting, and so committee reports were short. There were no building permits issued within the last two weeks. But if yoil will be needing one soon, contact Dee Valentine, 385-4903,-and she will be glad to help you. Also, if you are interested in renting the village hall for your special event* contact Lois Parenti, 385-3140, and she will be glad to answer your questions. The fee is minimal for residents. There will be a revenue sharing meeting Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 7:15 p.m. at the beach house, with the regular meeting following at 7:30 p.m. Why not plan on attending. They can be quite interesting and you might meet your neighbors there. FISH DERBY • Don't forget to jjiark Jan. 12 and 13, on your calendars for the McCullom Lake Conservation Club's annual Fish Derby. Prizes will be awarded each day, -&long with refreshments and bait available. Fishing licenses will also be available. The derby takes place on the entire lake with the beach house the center. If you have any questions, contact president Harvey May, 385-7445, and he will answer them. BIRTHDAYS Belated birthday wishes are sent to 'Mike Miller, who celebrated Dec. 26; Clemencia Fernandez opened her cards Dec. 28; Tommy Farrell blew out six candles Dec. 29; and Pat Tomasello shared Dec. 31 with Nick Morris, turning four on that date. ^ , "Happy Birthday" wishes for the new year go to Brent Blake on Jan. 2; John Boyle toasts in another year Jan. 3; Maurice Pendleton celebrates Jan/ 4; Sherri Lee Groh opens her gifts Jan. 6; and Maria Tomasello shares Jan. 7 with Amy Weisenberger, blowing out seven candles on that date. Wonder Lake: New officers lake over Starting off the 1985 year are new officers of the Wonder Lake Water Ski Club. The winter months are used as an organizational period for the club, getting all their summer activities planned, so this a very busy time for the new officers. Taking over for the coming , season as president is Caryn Hartmann-Shiel; vice president, Roger Hansen; show director, Lori Bowie; secretary, Tammy Kieres; treasurer, Nanci Lebda; and social chairman, Heather Fitzgerald. Tryouts were held in the fall and the club welcomed the following new members: Lauri Zimmer, Mark Broyles, Amy Dtirkin, Janet Mason, Erika Frenssen, Ray O'Brien, and Theresa O'Brien. Fencing class to begin Jan. 12 The Lake Region YMCA will begin a Winter Fencing Class Saturday, Jan. 12, at 1:30p.m. at the YMCA in Crystal Lake. The class concentrates on the basic fundamentals of fencing. Junior High School and adults are welcome to try the sport. The YMCA will supply the equipment needed to safely fence. Also, for those who already know how to fence, a club has been started which^ll meet at 2 p.m. on Saturdays./Those who finish the beginning fencing and prove-to be qualified by the instructor will be eligible to join the club. -v Contact Doug Neushwander at the YMCA for more information (815) 459-4455. IDOT seeks consultants for road, bridge projects The Illinois Department of Transportation. (IDOT) is seeking consultants for three highway or bridge projects in McHenry County. The consultants will be selected Jan. 3 by a six-member committee. All firms considered must be pre-qualified with IDOT to ensure their abilities in ac­ complishing project objectives, according to John Burke of IDOT.
