"Silent Night," sung in Polish and English, ended the solemn part of the gathering. As the tables were cleared, the band tuned up for some good old "Chicago Style" Polish polka music. Those in attendance claimed this was one of the best Christmas parties held by Post 188 and again pointed to the fact that this veterans organization is, not stagnant. Membership increases every year and post and chapter members can look forward to many more fine gatherings of Plavians. As the guests prepared to leave in the wee hours, all were reminded to remember the hospitalized veterans and visit them at the North Chicago V.A. Hospital during this holiday season. A honeymoon in the romantic Pocono Mountains was planned by recently married Mr. and Mrs. Jim Torricelli. The couple was united in holy matrimony Oct. 20, during a 2:30 p.m. Nuptial Mass offered by the groom's uncIeV Father Jim Keefner. Baskets of flowers enhanced / the setting in Christ the King Catholic Church, Wonder Lake; and appropriate musical selections included "Sunrise, ^Sunset," /'Ave Maria," and *'Where There Th#bride is the former Karen Dusthimer, daughter of Donald and Patricia Dusthimer, 7401 Parkwood, Wonder Lake. Jim and Kathryn Torricelli, 2129 Blackhawk, Springfield, 111., are the parents of the bridegroom. A traditional white, floor length wedding gown, em­ bellished with lace, was chosen by the bride. It was fashioned with a sweetheart neck, sheer inset yoke, and standup lace collar. Her blusher of netting was secured to a Victorian style lace hat, and she carried a colonial bouquet. Attending her sister as matron of honor was Sue Martin of McHenry. Bridesmaids were another sister, Michele Brown of Decatur, 111., friends, Gail Bonesz of Buffalo Grove ani Sue Holian of Richmond, 111., and a cousin, Jerilyn Jaskowiak of Carbondale, HI. The bride's nieces, Jennifer Martin of McHenry and Megan Brown of DCecatur, were flower girls. Attendants were attired in floor length, blue chiffon di*sseq. Handling; the duties of best man was the groom's brother, Jim Tofrricelli of Springfield. Groomsmen were the groom's cousin Joe * Mulcahy of Springfield; friends, Jim Massa and Larry Rockford of Springfield, and Brad Becker of New York. They wore gray tuxedcos with tails and cummerbunds. The groom's brothers, Steve and Jeff Torricelli, and friends, Tom Hamilton and Tom Voss, all of Springfield, served as ushers. They also wore gray tuxes with tails. \ « The mother of the bride selected a floor length, smoke blue dress with diagonal ruffles. A floor length navy blue dress was the choice of the groom's mother. A reception for 250 friends and relatives was held in the church hall. The couple graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in May, 1964. She received an Associate degree in Dental Hygiene; a B.S. degree in Nutrition; and is employed as a dental hygenist. He received a B.A. degree in Art and presently works for the state of Illinois in the advertising department, conservation department. They are residing in Springfield. The bride made and arranged the silk flowers, with the assistance of her sister Sue and friends; her mother made the four-tier wedding cake; her aunt Barbara Bara was the coor­ dinator and another aunt, Joanne>Jaskowiak, cut the cake. JIM TORRICELLI Items of interest f P.W.P. sets meeting January 4 Parents Without Partners, Chapter No. 189, will hold its first general meeting Friday, Jan. 4, at the Crystal Lake Moose Lodge on Route 31, one- quarter block north of Route 178. The evening will include a short business meeting with a fun time playing games. Adult activities planned in* elude a pajama party, meeting for newcomers, coffee and discussion on new Year resolutions, and a wine and cheese party. Chapter No. 189 invites all single parents to attend the family and adult activities. Contact Ann at 459-1614 for more information FIRST MEETING SET The Mission Team of the United Methodist^Women of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry will meet for its first meeting of the new year Monday, Jan. 7, at 9:30 a.m., in the church parlor. The December meeting was a busy one with important items on the agenda. Recommendations for allocation of surplus funds were presented to the general meeting for approval. SCHEDULE MEETING The next Marcia Mary Ball Circle meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8, at noon, in the church parlor, hosted by Ger­ trude Anderson. There were 22 members and guests at the annual Christmas party and all enjoyed a delicious luncheon and pleasant afternoon.
